    This took about 2 1/2 hours to put together. Not bad but more than expected. Instructions were ok. Panels and shelving are very thin and I don't dare put a lot of weight on the shelves. Pull outs for the back extension are a bit flimsy. I also worry about how much weight they can carry. Two people leaning on it while eating? That said, I love the color and the size. For space reasons, I did leave off the paper towel holder and the towel holder.

    I really do like this rolling island a lot. The directions are not the greatest, but thank heavens for the pictures as Some of the wooden parts were mislabeled, and I would have had real problems without the pictures. Also a few pieces of the hardware were not included. And I had to wait another week for them to arrive. Be sure to count everything when you open the box with the hardware. The finished product is quite nice, and I love the red. Things fit pretty well, and I am satisfied with the product for the price.

    As other people mentioned, the assembly was a bit tricky. Steps 6 and 7, where you put the frame together with just wooden dowels were a real challenge. There were so many pieces that were barely held together until something was actually screwed in that we were wishing for another helper or two to keep the whole thing together. I eventually straddled the piece holding it together with my feet thus having two free hands to hold in other places while my husband started on the cams and screws. I would suggest that you work on the right side first where the drawers go because it is a smaller section and has more stability. Other than that, we really like it and look forward to filling it up.

  • Great Bar Cart for the Money

    I am quite pleased with this cart. The wood top is easy to clean, the red is nice and cheery, and it adds lots of storage to my tiny kitchen. I love using the raised drop leaf when we need extra prep space! It took my husband and I 3-4 hours to assemble, and we're both handy people. Not difficult by any means, just lots of steps. The only downside is that the drawers are narrow but deep, so it took me a little while to figure out what to store in them. Overall, I am still very pleased with this purchase.

  • I would give it 5 star, save for a couple things..

    I'll reiterate what others have said, patience, teamwork and time. Husband and I started this at 10:15 PM after kids were asleep. We finished around 1:15AM. It could have been done faster but we chose to wood glue the dowels and edges. Performing "dry test" assembly to make sure we had things right was worth the time. IMO, instructions were straight forward. At the end, piece 8 and 3 were mislabeled (back right/back left posts that hold the backer board together). This was easy to spot as one had holes and the other did not. The spice rack is probably worthless for spices unless you use big bottles of things. There's about a 2 inch gap between the tray bottom and the island itself. I'll probably drop a plastic basket in there and use it for mail. Paper towel rod will probably be used for cloth towels. No damage found in the woods. All parts should be inventoried and inspected before starting the setup. We did use a power drill in some parts but set the tension low. This can easily be done with Phillips only but you have to have two patient people. Happy to say hubby and I had no arguments or dissagreement during the install. No divorce papers drafted during this DIY project! Love the look. The red paint does stain your hands during the installation, but I'll assume this is just paint dust and not something to worry about in the future.
