Do you recommend a box spring with this mattress?
We replaced our son's worn out Simmons beautyrest with this mattress, and love the comfort, quality and price. Also had free in-home delivery and the old one hauled away. This one is two inches deeper than the old one, so some of the sheets don't fit, but it's time for new sheets anyhow! It's a great deal all around!...

I wish I could give a review of the product, however, I was never able to get it delivered. While Overstock provided excellent customer service the carrier they used to deliver was impossible. They never contacted me for delivery and when I was finally able to reach someone they gave a date for delivery but never showed up. I tried many times to work with them and even Overstock tried to resolve the problem but finally had to cancel the order and purchase a mattress elsewhere. It is too bad a delivery company ruined a Christmas present for my mom.Read More

Bought this mattress 2 months ago for my daughter's bed. It's firm but still comfortable (Even when my husband or I need to lay with her). The best part was the price was $XXX cheaper than other websites! What a great deal!Read More

I just got this mattress today and must say that it is 100 times better than my old mattress. I checked the web for mattress prices before I bought this one and it was a lot less than a lot of the other stores. One top of that, they delivered it for free and picked up my old mattress for free. It's a little higher than my last mattress which is a plus. It is on the firm side which is okay, but I do wish that it was a little softer, but I'm not complaining. It's a good deal and a nice mattress. I'm happy I got it.Read More

How to Test Crib Mattress Firmness
You've picked out an adorable crib. Now it's time to find the right crib mattress to go in it. Like the rest of your baby furniture, you want your crib mattress to be the very best, and that means buying a firm mattress for your baby. When you're shopping for baby mattresses, your guideline should be "the firmer, the better." A firm baby mattress that fits your crib properly can help prevent injury and SIDS. Read the following tips to help you test crib mattress firmness to ensure the mattress you purchase is safe for your baby.
Best Reasons to Buy Firm Baby Crib Mattresses
When you're shopping for baby crib mattresses, safety should always come first. A soft mattress may make sleeping more comfortable for you, but the same could be hazardous, even deadly, for your infant. Baby crib mattresses should be firm -- as firm as possible -- to keep your little one safe during the night or daytime naps. You may be tempted towards the soft baby crib mattresses for your child, thinking that he'll be more comfortable. Babies, however, don't need the same joint support as adults, but they do need baby crib mattresses that reduce the risk of harm from their baby furniture while they sleep. There are many reasons to buy a firm baby mattress, and the following tips can help you determine what to look for.

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body. Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

Why Baby Mattress Ratings Matter
When you're buying a crib mattress, paying attention to baby mattress ratings can help you find the best mattress for your baby. Baby mattress ratings are particularly helpful when you're shopping for baby mattresses online, since you won't be able to look at a sample in the store. Crib mattress ratings can help parents choose the best baby mattresses for their child's age and sleeping habits. Reading baby mattress customer reviews and ratings, however, can be confusing; different parents are sometimes looking for different qualities in a crib mattress. The following tips can help you determine what to look for in crib mattress reviews and why baby mattress ratings matter.

How to Buy Sheets to Fit a Pillow-Top Mattress
Everyone knows that pillow-top mattresses are designed for additional softness and comfort. Due to the padding, pillow-top mattresses have more depth than regular mattresses. The height of the padding varies, but generally, manufacturers make pillow-top mattresses in depths varying from 7 to 22 inches. Specially made deep-pocket sheets for pillow-top mattresses are available; however, it is important to know the depth of your mattress before purchasing sheets. Here's how to buy the best sheets to fit your pillow-top mattress.
How to Dry Foam Mattress Pads
On top of your current mattress, mattress pads add comfort without costing you a fortune. A new mattress pad will make your bed feel brand new and offer support that your bed may be lacking due to years of use. Foam mattress pads come in different sizes to fit different mattress sizes. When accidents happen, such as spilled water, or when you need to spot clean, understanding how to dry a foam mattress pad is important. Read through this article to learn how to dry foam mattress pads.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
