Look no further if you are looking to integrate biometrics into your home or office. This hardware is well crafted with a modern look and feel. The functionality is impressive, with a high rating on number of successful fingerprint reads on the first try. Changes to your hands temperature or texture, such as taking a shower or coming in from a very cold day, will lower the accuracy of the device reading your print, but this appears more to do with rapid temperature variations rather than design flaws within the device itself. Regardless, even in these conditions the device works, you just may not experience the higher rate of accuracy previously described. Installation for someone that has installed standard door locks in the past should be somewhat basic. In my tests, the installation on a standard interior home door was simple and straight-forward with one exception...the strike on the door frame needed to be slightly adjusted as the door latch did not line up with the location of the strike from the prior install. As a result, you may have some cosmetic issues with your door frame that need additional work if you are overly concerned about appearance. If not, either some wood putty or a larger door strike plate can solve your problem quickly. One of the best features of this hardware is that it is not only a biometric device, but also supports a pin code or physical key. Both are nice as a backup just in case there are issues with the electronics, none of which have been evident to-date.I would not recommend this device to secure an outside door, not because of the workmaship, but rather due to the necessity of having a deadbolt for exterior doors for proper security. The manufacturer makes a deadbolt model also which I will be testing in the coming weeks.A word of caution - THIS HARDWARE CANNOT BE RETURNED ONCE YOU OPEN IT. So, carefully review the specfication and be sure on your committment prior to breaking the manuacturers seal.
