I love this comforter and I'm so happy I bought it! This comforter is well made. For those who've never had a silk comforter, they aren't puffy like down but instead flat so they drape nicely on the bed. Although lightweight, it's warm but still comfortable in the warm southern summers. I put a 320tc duvet cover on mine and I love how the comforter drapes on me. Feels very luxurious-as soft as down, only lighter and allergy free since silk is naturally dust mite resistant. I recommend using a duvet with this since it's dryclean only but with proper care you shouldn't have to do that but every 5-10 years. This is a bargain price, too! BTW, fill weight wasn't listed on overstock's website but the package says full/queen is 40oz and king is 50oz which is equal to other silk comforters I looked at at much higher prices. Very happy with my purchase!

What Luxury!
linda5356  from Bloomington, IN,  Nov 7, 2009
Received today, After a chilly evening at the High School football game, I am cozy warm under this luxurious silk filled comforter. I have been looking for one for about two years - I was very skeptical about purchasing this comforter as it was so much cheaper than anything else I had looked at - but there is nothing cheap about this comforter. I look forward to many cozy and luxurious nights of sleep. Thanks for another quality product Overstock!

perfect comfort
db118  from Tidewater VA,  Nov 6, 2009
The silk-filled comforter strikes a perfect balance between warmth and weight - it seems to float over the bed, yet holds in body heat just as well as any down comforter I've used. I've been told by doctor to avoid down products due to allergies; the silk option is great because it is naturally hypoallergenic, and I've had no problems so far. As for construction, the damask stripe cover is smooth, with a very soft 'hand', and all stitching is even and secure. The only drawback is that it only comes in white - but hey, that's what duvets are for. I liked this item so much that I came back and purchased one for my mom and one for my daughter. As always, Overstock's cheap and fast shipping made the experience even better.

Hotel Quality
kiki1jup  from Orange, Ca,  Nov 4, 2009
I was looking to upgrade my bedroom set to mirror the type of bedding found in hotels but I am allergic to Down. This is a fantastic alternative. Plush but not heavy. Silk is suppose to keep temperature constant and I find it keeps me comfortable no matter what the room temperature is. Love it!

love them
ingridgracy21  from TN,  Oct 29, 2009
We bought two of these comforters. Although they are thin they are very warm, just like what other people already mentioned. The cotton cover is of good quality too. But, if you prefer something puffy, this may not be your choice.

Warm, warmer, warmest
pattykaye  from Tomball, TX,  Oct 21, 2009
I received my silk filled comforter more quickly than I had thought -- a very nice surprise. I opened the package and found the comforter to be of excellent workmanship and quality materials. When I lifted the comforter out of the box, I was surprised to find it was quite heavy for it's size (I got a queen size). I covered the comforter with a duvet and put it on my bed. I have slept under it for several weeks now and find that if it is not very cold outside, it is more warmth than I need. I have no doubt that when the temperature plunges, I will be very happy that I purchased it.

breathes
chloe2shoes  from oregon,  Oct 19, 2009
I bought this after reading one review that this breathes - and it does! it fits corner to corner in a duvet cover - perfect fit, sized as stated exactly. it is near perfect weight for oregon weather (a tiny bit warmer would be great in the winter - so i keep an extra blanket on the foot of the bed) - the photo makes this appear like a huge fluffy thing that doesn't bend/ fold over the edge of the bed which is simply deceiving. it drapes like a blanket, not a huge comforter. i was tired of getting overheated by down comforters of every weight and warmth level - not to mention the feathers that escape. this is the perfect down alternative - -well, now that I know what silk can do I'd never choose down again.

Love it!
linnyjohn  from Milwaukee, WI,  Sep 20, 2009
I bought this comforter when my allergy test results said that I am horribly allergic to dust mites. Silk is a material dust mites can not live in making this a great option for those suffering from allergies. Not wanting to spend a small fortune on the special allergy certified products, I searched for this in frustration and found it here on overstock. I absolutely love this comforter. I live in WI where we have COLD winters (-13 degree wind chills) and this keeps me very warm. It's seems very thin when you first open the package but it's dense so when when you sleep it hugs your body, keeping the warmth in while regulating your body temperature. I have a 20in or so queen sized mattress and the queen size comforter fits just right. Don't hesitate.

Silk is Soooooo nice
lindael  from Rumney NH,  Sep 14, 2009
I have a # of down comforters but they are to hot except for the very coldest New England weather. I first slept under silk in China and really enjoyed it. The silk seems to keep you just right no matter the temp. in the room. If your room is 40 degrees or 70, the silk works. Besure and keep it in a cover. But once you sleep under silk you will not want to go back to down or blankets. The other thing I found with silk is that when it is humid the silk stays nice to sleep under.

My husband and I suffer from a number of allergies so we cannot use down bedding and we prefer to avoid synthetics. We can both breathe much easier at night since we made the switch. This comforter isn't as nice as some other silk ones are, but it's a fabulous deal for the price. I have put our old silk comforter on our daugher's bed and she is no longer sniffling and sneezing at night either. I also love that this comforter regulates body temperature. No more fights over it being too hot or too cold to sleep. Now were both always the perfect temperature.

Okay
mriverdance  from LB, CA,  Aug 22, 2009
From other reviewers I new this would be on the narrow side, I just wanted another comforter for the cool months, I purchased this and the 500 thread count comforter on this site. This one is thinner, but it does warm up, so for the winter months I know I will be pleased. I wished it was just a bit wider I would have given it 5 - stars. for the price and its look, I think this was a great buy. If you just want a lighter comforter, get the 500 thread count. This one has a thinner profile. Look at the dim, and check your bed, if you want it too layer over on the sides.

Amazing, but kind of thin
sunfall77  from San Francisco, CA,  May 13, 2009
I love this blanket. It's good quality construction, and a good value for the money. The silk is great. As somebody else noted, however, the queen is 40oz and the king is 50oz. This is rather lightweight--even lighter than the "summer weight" silk filled comforters I've seen on other sites. One blanket is too light, even for May in San Francisco. I just received the second one, and the weight of two is perfect. Perhaps a bit heavy for summer, but will do nicely for year-round in San Francisco, with nights without heat in the 30s-50s.I love that this blanket eliminates the shifting down problem so I never have to fluff it up. I love its weight, also (two of them together, that is). However, the second blanket I received had somewhat uneven distribution of filling. One side is markedly thinner than the other, sadly. In the end, though, grab 'em while you can!

Good down alternative
petuniascloset  from Connecticut,  Apr 15, 2009
I love this comforter. It's warm and thin so it won't make the bed bulky. It's a good alternative to down because it gives them same warmth without the allergies. The biggest difference is that it's much heavier than down.

Warmer than it looks
chani5  from Sebastopol, Ca,  Apr 10, 2009
I have been looking for a warm comforter for a long time. I get frustrated with shifting down, so thought I would try the silk comforter. It is thinner than a down comforter, but very dense. It keeps me toasty warn, and doesn't shift al all. The only downside to this comforter is the weight. It is heavy. It will be a great winter comforter, but is too warm for summer, in California.

Had to try it and loved it
k137  from New England,  Apr 9, 2009
My husband and I were dealing with a down comforter that migrated to the bottom of the bed. I heard such great things about this comforter that we purchased it. The silk is healthful and stays in place and it is surprisingly warm and wonderful. We love it and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks again, Overstock!

It is heavier than I thought it would be. With the duvet it ts too warm for Tucson. Otherwise, it will be great for the winter months. It arrived quickly and it is very well made.

Great buy!
traceysa  from San Antonio, TX,  Mar 9, 2009
I bought this comforter about two years ago. I'm still using it everyday. I live in south Texas and this is perfect for me. It's lightweight yet warm on the nights it does get cold here. I love that it lies flat under my decorative comforter...more like a blanket. It's been one of the best buys I've gotten from Overstock!
