On July 25, 2014, I asked the following question: I initially looked at the 100" wide version of these curtains, which indicates "attached hookbelt". However, a reviewer states that she ordered BOTH the 50" wide AND the 100" wide versions, and that ONLY the 50" wide version has the attached hookbelt. This is important, because I want to hang the curtains with rings, not with the rod through the rod pocket. The 50" wide version doesn't mention anything about an attached hookbelt - does it have this feature or not? If so, what comes with the panel and what would I need to purchase separately in order to hang the panel via rings? If I need to purchase rings separately, how many rings are needed for the 50" panel? Thank you! Customer Care responded on August 5, 2014 that the item is out of stock, which it clearly is not. I also did not receive notification of the response, although I did receive notification when I originally asked the question (I "subscribed" to the responses.) Would someone please respond to my original question? Thank you!

I have been shopping in many stores for the perfect drapes and had finally given up. Wrong color, wrong fabric, or no lining. Unless you go to custom made or make them yourself, everything ready made seems cheaply made and the options are minimal. I finally resorted to searching online. Why I didn't start with Overstock to begin with....I don't know. I found these drapes in less than 30 minutes, they arrived a couple of days later. The color, fabric, lining, texture, hang of the drapes, and look are all what I have been running all over town looking for. Soft, velvety, dark chocolate brown that look beautiful, keep the room warm and block drafts. I hung them floor to ceiling with a thick rod. Thank you to everyone who reviewed them; it is the personal reviews that led me to choose these drapes and I'm very glad I did.Read More
We first purchased a set of these curtains (extra wide panels) for the master bedroom on a black Friday sale. Had I known the deal I was getting, I would have purchased them for all of the bedrooms at that time. We received that pair, and they were gorgeous, extremely high quality and perfect for blocking out the light and keeping the temperature in the room steady. After I realized what a difference quality curtains could make, I quickly purchased a pair for my infant daughter's room which is always the coldest/draftiest room of the house; we hung those tonight but I know that the room will be much better insulated as a result. I'm writing this now after purchasing a third set for my son's room. Highly recommended and as I understand, similar (or the same) curtains are sold by Pottery Barn for double the price.Read More

I highly recommend this product. The curtains are exactly as described, from the color, feel to the blackout feature. With the extreme cold weather we have had lately, the insulated back keeps the room draft free and much warmer. The curtains are quite heavy and I hung them using the Lewis Crowning oil brown curtain rod with heavy duty cocoa curtain rings and it worked beautifully. My living room now looks and feels so much richer!Read More
Questions & Answers
Hello steffyr, according to a reviewer, there are three ways to hang these drapes: through the normal casing, with drapery hooks or through wide straps on the back of the drape. To hang these drapes via rings, one customer used Lewis Crowning Oil Brown Curtain Rod, item # 14223339 and the Heavy Duty 1.5 inch Cocoa Curtain Rings with Clip (Pack of 10), item # 14527997. The number of rings you will need depends on the fullness you desire. For 150 percent fullness, you would need about 11 rings per 50 inch panel. Probably one bag of 10 per 50 inch panel will work. Hello steffyr, unfortunately this item (50 inch curtain panel) is out of stock. We currently do not have inventory to check, and cannot guarantee the item will be restocked. Thank you for shopping with us.
One of the reviews said that it was "crushed velvet". Is the drapery made of crushed velvet fabric or a smooth cut velvet finish?
Hello xnancygx, These curtains are beautiful! These panels are made of poly velvet, not crushed or smooth cut velvet. I hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us.
What does the back of the panel look like? Is it white, black or the same fabric on both sides?
The lining is a very mellow creamy white.
How to Care for Velvet Curtains
Add a touch of elegance to any room with the soft, plush texture and rich, deep colors of velvet curtains. Plus, the heavy weight of velvet keeps out extra light and provides maximum privacy, making them the perfect curtains for bedrooms. However, this elegant three-dimensional fabric requires special care when used as window curtains. Read this guide for the basics of caring for your new velvet curtains.
How to Install Blackout Curtains
Blackout curtains can keep a room cool and dark even when it's bright and sunny outside. A completely dark room is a wonderful thing if you have a job that requires you to work all night or even if you just want a dark room for watching a movie when it's light outside. In addition, blackout window treatments help you conserve energy by keeping heat in and cold out or vice versa. You have two choices when it comes to installing blackout curtains: You can buy curtains that come with blackout liners already sewn in, or you can add panels of blackout fabric to the curtains you already own.
How to Hang a Valance and Curtains
Hanging a valance and curtains over your window will add dimension, texture and style to any room. Window curtains with a valance give your window treatments a finished, designer look. If you want to block out light, a valance and full-length blackout panel curtain is your best choice. If you are more interested in decoration and only need to block minimal light, then a valance over sheer curtains is a good choice. It's important to measure the window and decide what type of curtains you want before you buy the curtain hardware. A cafe rod will be sufficient to support a sheer curtain, but you will need a stronger curtain rod to support heavier fabrics such as blackout panels. Also, the larger the window, the sturdier the curtain rod will need to be.
FAQs about Thermal Insulated Curtains
Create privacy and save energy when you buy thermal curtains for your home. They're made of materials that provide a layer of insulation that prevents hot or cold air from entering or escaping a room through a drafty window. While thermal curtains are often made of heavy materials, like cotton or velvet, to regulate the amount of light that comes into the room, you can find curtains in a variety of fabrics that go with any room decor.
