Yes, it's rather bulky. But the wheels keep that from being an issue. And the long cord makes it easy to vacuum an entire room without having to stop, unplug, plug in. The hose and attachments are ultra lightweight which is really important as they are what you will be working with. We have 5 dogs and two cats and nothing but bare floors and I needed something powerful, yet easy to use. I'd have never thought of purchasing a shop vac for everyday, household use, but this works better than I ever imagined. The suction power is so good that I have even picked up rather large shards of glass without any hesitation. And, the filter bags are so large that it would appear changing them may be an annual endeavor. The performance and convenience are far more valuable than the relatively small price tag.The only reason I considered it was because of a review by another pet owner, when I was searching for the best bare floor vacuum. And, I can assure you, it truly is the best and even the air quality in my home has improved. I've found only two negatives that are far outweighed by the positive, in my opinion. Storing this behemoth is not easily achieved in my contemporary style home. But a large laundry room, pantry, or storage closet could solve this dilemma. Since I use it daily, I leave it in the great room and "hide" it in the walk-in closet when company comes over. And, the other thing I'm not too thrilled with is the on-board accessory storage. For all intents and purposes, there is none, other than a really convenient place to hang the wrapped cord. The tool caddy just doesn't adequately hold all the accessories nor does it keep them out of the way. So, the ones I don't use everyday are stored in the closet. All in all, I highly recommend this as an alternative to a household vacuum for cleaning bare floors.
