The end product looks great. It was time consuming putting it together. In addition to all of the parts I also used Gorilla glue, some extra screws and a few thin nails. The actual construction of the frame did not seem sturdy to me and some of the pieces would split when screwing the provided screws in. My added construction materials did the trick. Another issue that arose for me were the back legs. Most shoe cabinets do not have back legs, as the cabinets get mounted to the wall.....I actually cut the legs off on the back so that I could mount this to the wall. Product looks good, fits well in the space, and holds many shoes! My husband wheres a size 11 and they fit fine, I believe a 12 would as well. The package arrived in rough shape with a flurry of styrofoam spewing out the corners....but the contents were in fine shape, without a scratch. I would recommend this cabinet, just be prepared to go a little further than intended.
I have bought quite a few furniture items requiring assembly. This one had minimal instructions. It arrived damaged even though the box did not appear to have been mishandled - the items were poorly packaged for shipping. Fortunately the damaged side will be to the wall so I did some visible repairs, ensured all pieces were there, and moved forward. Overall, the design is OK. One VERY weak point in the design is there is no back panel or reinforcements, thus the entire piece assembled is wobbly. I have measured and will fabricate a back panel from some leftover luan and this should sturdy it up. If I were the manufacturer, I would be sure to modify this design soon before too many folks give poor reviews. I would not recommend this to just anyone as most other folks would not be happy with it nor be able to correct the problems themselves.
I was so looking forward to this cabinet as it looked so nice in the picture. I worked on it for hours putting it together (which was difficult and required some rather interesting maneuvers). I got to the final steps only to find two pieces missing (drawer sides), which I hadn't noticed before (partly because of poor packaging - explained in a minute). One of the front pieces (thin panel that goes between the top and the drawer) which is not supposed to have front facing holes, had these unsightly holes drilled for countersink screws - nothing screws in here! The packaging was horrendous, styrofoam was torn to pieces before I even opened the box, and made a huge mess all over the house (I have two small kids - they thought it was great fun having "snow" in the house). I am currently trying to get the missing pieces from Overstock and waiting to hear if they are even available. Very disappointed in this purchase overall.
This is a great addition to my spare room. Using it to keep all my summer shoes in one place to make space for work and winter shoes in my closet. I was able to fit 20 pairs of sandals and flip flops. It is a really good looking piece of furniture, bigger than I expected and would gladly purchase another for winter shoes except there is no room for it in my spare room. I highly recommend the product.
