I recently purchased this for my nine year old. He wanted a candy machine for his birthday. I was hesitant to order one with an automatic dispenser after reading reviews that many times they get stuck and keep dispensing candy. This one works great and he loves it, as do all his siblings and friends. It also holds a lot of candy and the design is simple, yet modern looking. We filled it with skittles to start with. When you place your hand under the dispenser it releases about a handful of candy and does not release more until you move your hand away and put it back under there again. No continuous dispensing or need to try to quickly move your hand away. There is also a small on/off button so it does not have to be on all the time. Would definitely buy this again.
I bought this for someone for their birthday, and my feedback on it was that it works intermittently, not what you want to hear on something you bought someone as a gift. she is going to give it a little more time, hopefully it will start to work the way it should.
I had high expectations for this dispenser, considering the brand name. Then again, it's being used under a license. The concept is great. The material is cheap thin plastic. It doesn't really come apart at all for cleaning. The base has no weight at all, so it will tip if bumped too much, and candies will slip out. The activation sensor works great (almost too great). Where it fails is in the dispensing. Sometimes you might get 2-4 pieces, then all of a sudden 20 pieces. I used Skittles. I'm going to try something larger, like Wonka Runts or M&M's Peanut. If you're only looking for something to dispense smaller candies, skip this item. It's not worth the money or headache. If I hadn't tossed the box it came in already, it would have gone back.
