Customer The microwave oven is great except for one thing, the back light on the clock is only on when the oven is in use. The rest of the time you cannot see the time. This oven replaced one just like it and the time on the display panel was on all the time. Nothing in the manual offered any help. I call customer support and after some checking around, the person came back on the line and said it doesn't stay on because the manufacturer wanted to get an electric efficiency rating and so the clock isn't lighted except when the oven is in use. An LED light draws virtually no power. I cannot believe the answer is accurate. Otherwise, why would the clock always show the time but not be visible? Help please. SLD

I don't know anything about the filler kit but maybe you should consider going with the 30 inch (same style, just a bit bigger) for just a couple hundred more and then perhaps it would be a better fit? Best of luck!

The picture with the closed door shows the microwave vent on the outside bottom. The other picture with the open door shows the vents inside. Is one an updated picture or is there another piece that must be purchased to vent properly?

The photo indicates a very shallow clearance from the drawer bottom to microwave roof. How does the clearance compare to a normal Sharp microwave model? What model would be a good comparison (internal dimension/volume wise) with this drawer mounted unit?

Thank you for contacting us edwinf. The standard opening height for a countertop microwave is 7 1/2- 8 1/2 inches. The standard height for an over-the-range microwave is 8 1/2 - 9 1/2. The Sharp microwave drawer has an opening height of 7 1/2 inches x 16 1/2 width x 16 1/2 depth. The camera angle in the photo makes the opening look smaller than it actually is. The GE Spacemaker countertop microwave has an opening height of 7 1/2 inches width of 16 inches and depth of 11 inches.
