First let me say, I was amazed how quickly my Shark Vacuum shipped to my home! It was not a Christmas gift but the company treated my order as if it was one. Kudos to the company for processing and shipping my order so quickly! I have since used it for several cleaning jobs around the home. The vacuum and its attachments are wonderful. My sister bought a Shark and she loves hers so it prompted me to research the Shark line and I decided on the long reach professional model. I had almost purchased another hoover since it did its job well for so may years. The Shark I ended up ordering because of my sister loving her Shark Vacuum out performs the hoover. One of the best features is...No bags or filters to buy! I swear the air seems cleaner and fresher in the house when I am done vacuuming! That is the icing on the cake.Read More
This item is great and is not refurbished. It was easy to assemble. The pet attachment brush is high quality and works surprisingly well. Has a long electrical cord and 30ft reaching slinky attachment cord. A must buy if you are looking and is reasonably on price. This is absolutely the best vacuum I have ever owned in 30 years of cleaning.Read More
I have had this for two weeks but its worked perfectly thus far.Read More
love this vacume, best vacume I have ever had. I was never so happy and grossed out to see all the dirt it was sucking out of my rugs. I love being able to turn the brush off and vacume my hard wood floors. I no longer have to sweep I can just vacume it all. It is much quieter than my last Bissell I owned, my pets don't even run from this vacume. U love the extra cleaning attachments and the extra ling reach. I know other people have complained about vacume falling over when using the extra long reach wand that does not bug me cause my much heavier vacume fell over more than this lighter weight shark does, so that was not a issue. It sucks up everything a carpet traps. So very very happy. Loving this brand right now. I also own the pro pocket steam mop and very happy with it too.Read More
Great for the money!! Slightly clunky and wish it had a retracting cord but not many seem to anymore. Strong suction.Read More
Works great! There was no manual in the box, so I'm sure there are things I need to know... It was a great deal. The thing is pretty heavy.Read More
So far I love my new Shark vac. I've only had it a couple of weeks and haven't used it a lot yet, but it does suck well and is really easy to use on my floors. I don't have carpets, only laminate floors and some throw rugs, but it is much easier to use than my old vacuum. It does tend to be easily pulled over when you are using the hose and attachments, but I can live with that.Read More
I have a Dyson and now a Shark. The Dyson has better suction power and wider floor sweeper portion. The Shark has a longer eletrical cord, more attachments, really cleans your upholstry and is compact. BOTH are Great Vacuums! Dyson just is stronger!Read More
My wife and I both like our new vacuum. Couldn't believe how much dirt it picked up the 1st time. Very easy to empty the dirt.., easy to assemble although my wife did blow up the directions for easier reading. Lots of attachments to cover every possible space. It is a little bigger and heavier then I anticipated but my wife, all 5'2" of her has no complaint. If this has been refurbished, I can't see it.Read More
We first ordered a Dyson DC33 (the animal one) refurbished because of it's claim of "we never, ever clog". Well, I'm not sure what was wrong with it but we clogged it but good and it just didn't seem to have the power needed to keep up with two golden retrievers and two cats who all shed. I was reluctant to place an order for another refurbished machine, but since Overstock is great and the return process is so easy we decided to go ahead and order this Shark vacuum. We are so satisfied - this machine, which costs considerably less than the Dyson is a strong machine and you can feel the suction. You'd be shocked to see what came out of our carpet....ewwww....I highly recommend this machine!Read More

Hi amidkiff, the canister is not removable, but the vacuum does have a 16 foot hose with additional tools that should make cleaning the stairs a snap. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.
I just received my unit yesterday and haven't been able to use all the attachments but there is an attachment to use on the stairs but the main canister on the bottom of the unit doesn't come off. I must add that the suction on this vacuum is strong!
Is it necessary to purchase filters with this model? -- If so, where can they be purchased and for how much? Also, seeing that this is a refurbished model, will it come with an instruction booklet? In the event that it does not come with instructions, can instructions be found on an online website? Thank you!
Hi, lwoodruff. You can purchase replacement filters from the manufacturer or by doing an internet search for them; they are not available on our site. The price will vary depending on where and when you purchase them. Since the item is out of stock, we are unable to check whether it comes with an instruction manual. However, an internet search for "shark NV402 instructions" brings up a PDF of the manual. Thank you for your questions, and have a great day.
I recently purchased a couple of shag area rugs, and now . I'm looking for the right vacuum. . . . The rugs are synthetic and has a deep pile of about 1.5 inch. So far, they don't shed. As a matter of fact, I purchased them from O.com. I don't have pets, but I am considering this vacuum because of the suction quality described . . . and of course the HEPA filtration is a big plus. Would you recommend this particular vacuum for shag rugs? Thank you.

1080p-HDTVs vs 1080i-HDTVs
High-definition televisions provide a higher resolution image than standard-definition televisions. Typically, HDTVs are available in three types: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. The 720p and 1080i resolution TVs are quickly being replaced with 1080p as the industry standard, but there are still a lot of them on the market. Here are some comparison points for both 1080i and 1080p televisions to help you decide which will work best for you. What the numbers mean. In both 1080p and 1080i HDTVs, "1080" refers to the number of lines that make up an image on the screen. Each line is made up of tiny colored dots called pixels. The greater the number of lines, the better the resolution or clarity of the image. A 1080p HDTV displays 1,080 lines of pixels, whereas a regular television uses only 480 lines. Both versions of 1080i and 1080p HDTVs are superior to the 720p HDTV and to SDTV. What the letters mean. The difference between 1080i and 1080p HDTV resolution is seen in the way the lines appear on the screen. The "i" in 1080i or 720i stands for interlaced, meaning the odd-numbered lines appear on the screen followed by the even-numbered lines. The HDTV "interlaces" the lines together to produce an image. This happens faster than your eyes can detect, so you only see the full image. The "p" in 1080p or 720p stands for progressive scan, which means that lines appear sequentially on the screen. For this reason, the latter is said to have a sharper, cleaner image. Cost differences. When the technology was first released, a 1080p HDTV was significantly more expensive than 1080i HDTVs. The price of all HDTVs has dropped dramatically in recent years, however. You'll find great deals on both 1080i and 1080p HDTVs, so the price difference is negligible in most cases. Programming availability. Although 1080p picture clarity might be higher than 1080i, the resolution of the video source being used also matters. Most HDTV broadcasts go no higher than 1080i. Most video games are currently made in 720p, but a few are available in 1080p. Blu-ray players do support 1080p, and more Blu-ray discs are being made to take advantage of this capability. Some on-demand cable and satellite providers offer programming in high definition as well. The 1080p resolution and image quality are quickly being adopted by manufacturers and content providers, so look for more content for HDTVs that take full advantage of this technology.
