Great dining set, even with missing pieces
 from Arizona,  Jun 11, 2009

I bought this set back in March of 2009. I didn't assemble this set though until I moved into my new home with my husband (we are newly weds). Our home has a small dining room but this set works perfectly in the small space we have, not to mention the color and design is just what we wanted. However, when we were putting this set together, we received 5 right front legs instead of 4 and only 3 left front legs...they accidently gave us a right leg instead of the left. So, we were only able to put together 3 chairs out of the 4....which is a bummer. We contacted overstock customer service and hope they will be able to send us another left leg or replace the chair entirely. Since then, we've noticed the inner threads are missing to put the screws in. My husband thinks he might be able to fix it, but we will see. The table we the easiest part - we were able to put it together in 20 mins. The chairs took us about 2-3 hours. Even without the 4th chair, this set is beautiful! We received it with no scratches or marks on either the chairs or the tabletop. I would reccomend this set, just make sure you have all the right pieces.

Love the look
from Kansas City, MO,  Apr 2, 2009

First of all, when this set is delivered--it will take more than one person to carry it into the house! It's heavy. The overall look of the table and chairs is fabulous--very chic. The chairs are time consuming to assemble--the instructions are not the most clear. Two right rear legs were defective--missing the threaded inserts so the screws could go in. We'll see how quickly those get replaced. We may repair it with glue and dowel rods--we don't know yet. Or we may see if the hardware store has the threaded wood inserts. The table was very easy to assemble. Still, in saying this, I highly recommend this set--I'm just trying to be realistic in the description. The overall appearance is just what I wanted; the table and chairs are the perfect size for my small dining area. There was no damage to the table top--I've read in some reviews that there was damage to the tabletop, but not on this one. I would definitely buy this set again.

Great Table set
 from DC,  Feb 3, 2011

The is a beautiful set and goes together easily. It's definitely only big enough for four to sit comfortably at, but it's perfect for a family breakfast table.

Great look, but flimsy wood
from Washington, DC,  Sep 14, 2010

I was really excited about this table because it looks so great in the photo and in person. It is, however, very hard to put together, and the wood is flimsy. One of the chair legs snapped right in half and I couldn't repair it on my own. You can definitely find much better products on Overstock...not at this low of a price, but it's definitely worth it to pay more.

This set looks nice and is not that hard to assemble, but it's a bit flimsy. After a few months of use all the screws need tightened to the point that it needs disassembled and reassembled to tighten them properly. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more for a sturdier set.

Assembly easy
from Bremerton, WA,  Jan 6, 2010

I had read several reviews of this set, and so was prepared for a difficult time. I was pleasantly suprised. It only took about an hour, and while having power tools available, I would have been able to get the job done, just using the tools provided. While small, the set should work for my daughter, in her first apartment, for a few years.

I would have given this set 5 stars...but, they shorted me two screws, which as it turns out are metric and very hard to find...other than that...the set looks great...perfect for a small space...it is comfortable and sturdy...I am very happy overall...

Shaker Table

I really like this little table but it was a lot of work to put together. I paid a friend to do it and it took quite a while.

Perfect Price
from Baltimore, MD,  Dec 11, 2009

We were looking for a small, sturdy table and chair set for our kitchen nook and this is just perfect. My husband used wood glue to reinforce each piece during assembly and thus far it has been a seemingly well constructed product for such an unbelievable price. I would buy it again if I had the chance to rethink my decision. The only aspect that I am getting used to is the degree and depth of how dark the wood is in reality. It is way, way dark but still looks very nice with our cherry floors. Overall very staisfied.

Shaker dining set
 from SC,  Dec 3, 2009

The table and chairs look great and arrived promptly. The chairs were not as easy to assemble as I would have liked, mainly because the instructions were mostly line drawings. The worst thing was that the table arrived without the hardware needed for assembly.

kitchen table and chairs
from Wyoming, New York,  Nov 19, 2009

We are very happy with our new kitchen table and chairs. The set fits very well into smaller spaces. It is very well made and has a nice styling. The assembly is a bit challenging, but quick once you understand the assembly instructions.

Too late
from Rochester, NY,  Oct 16, 2009

This is a delightful little dinette set. I love its looks. Many reviews pointed out the difficulty assembling the chairs. My adult son put the set together for me in an afternoon, so I can't comment on ease of assembly except to say he had no trouble assembling the set. He has had much experience in this area. However, I believe this item is now sold out, so I don't know how this review will help. I'm glad I got mine when I did.

2 Days Later
 from Manhattan,  Aug 15, 2009

Only buy this set if you have a lot of time on your hands. The chairs take FOREVER to put together. I could only put together 3 out of 4 of my chairs which would have really bothered me if I didn't have a Manhattan sized kitchen where the table must be flush against the wall anyway. The table does look good with my other espresso furniture though.Use coasters!

satisfied
from ny, ny,  Jul 23, 2009

The chairs took forever to assemble. My husband nearly threw them out the window. Once he figured out how to assemble the first chair, however, the others were a bit easier. My only other complaint is that the table is very small, though I did expect this, given the measurements. It probably only seats five people comfortably. Anything more than that, and the plates will not fit the surface area of the table. Considering the cost of this set, though, I'm very happy with my purchase and would purchase this set again, if I had to do it over again. Seriously, though: those chairs are terribly difficult to put together. One needs tons of patience. Expect it to take an afternoon.

Shaker Dining Set
from Bethlehem Twshp, PA,  Jun 27, 2009

At first we felt overwhelmed, all the pieces that had to be put together, but it turned out that it was fairly easy to get it done in a few hours. The chairs are comfortable and the table is just the right size for us. We've had lots of compliments and we Love the set! We would highly recommend it to anyone.

It is absurdly TINY
from Baton Rouge, LA,  Jun 20, 2009

It is super cute and very clean modern lines, but it looks like doll house furniture even in a small dining space within an open floor plan. The chairs took HOURS to put together as well as a couple of cocktails to prevent me from throwing them out of the window while fighting with that stupid little allen wrench. My table also had damage to one corner. If it weren't for the teeny tiny size I would say everything else is worth it. If you have a MICRO sized eating area (an the patience of Jobe with those chairs) then this is perfect -- Truly you can not tuck 4 people under the table without their knees crushing each other. I set the table with 4 diner plates and you are then unable to put a napkin holder and small salt and pepper shaker between the plates- the surface is that small.

Worth It
 from Missouri,  Mar 13, 2009

I've looked for a good deal on a table all over and for $ this sturdy rubber wood table was the best deal. It shipped quickly and cheaply (as Overstock always does, I find). I found a small crack in the wood under the table but nothing that seems will cause more damage in the future, more of a chip. The table is very easy to assemble. The chairs... well; I put together two the night I got it, got annoyed and tired and put the other two together the second night. The screws are visible on the chairs but are black so don't stand out and again... for the price, I am not complaining. Once all put together, very pretty and nice small size. Perfect for a kitchen.
