I purchased this topper after having bought a brand new mattress that I hated and couldn't return! The first mattress I bought was too soft and I was allowed one exchange. I *thought* I was choosing carefully, but the mattress ended up being way too hard. I gave it some time so my body would adjust, but nothing. I was not sleeping at all, in pain, frustrated to the point of tears....and left feeling like I had just thrown $1,100 away. I bought this topper and it completely saved me!! I read the great reviews, but did not expect it to make this much of a difference. I took it out of the box and let it unfold on it's own as it says on the instructions. I let it air out like that in a sparebedroom for about 2 days. The smell went away soon enough. It fits perfectly on my queen bed and now.....I actually love my bed!!!! Also, I had mentioned the purchase to a friend of mine and he said he had also bought it sometime ago from Overstock and swears by it! Also, bought one for his parents.

I had been wanting to buy one of these mattresses for a long time but would only do so when I found one for approximately $100 and at least 3 inches thick. We got this, it arrived in a timely manner and weighs more than you think (lift with your knees). Once opened, it needed to be aired out as it is rather smelly but just letting it breathe for a few hours did the trick. We noticed that it arrived with a couple of nicks (sp?) in it but they were small, so we didn't bother making a big deal over it as a sheet would be on top of it anyway. Well, we loved it for the first 3 weeks before the foam started softening up where our body naturally lies each night. I love the mattress but my husband doesn't nor does he get a good night sleep like i do. The topper is now waiting to be given away. If either you or your partner like firm mattresses, don't bother wasting your money on this, however, if you are like me, and like softer mattresses, you WILL love this and the quality is pretty good

I didn't realize that the mattress on the guest bed really wasn't that comfortable (never was - not that old) until I decided to test it. Priced new mattresses and decided that a topper was the way to go. I already knew that the foam had to be at least 3" think to mean anything and I knew about density. This wasn't a task for store to store shopping; company was on the way the next weekend. Zipped over to the Overstock.com website and did a bit of searching and there it was. The right thickness and good density. The shipping speed was AWESOME! These pads need time to unroll ON THEIR OWN. And a bit of time to air. You have to have a mattress cover which is deep enough to accommodate both the foam topper (this is really a bit more than a topper) and the mattress. (Ordered that from Overstock.com as well) I placed the pad on top of the mattress and let it do its thing. The next day it had completely unrolled and I was able to make the bed. Lay down and was amazed. It wasn't the same mattress. Be advised, without a cover which some do come with for quite a bit more $$$, it isn't a pretty sight. Since you're going to want a cover anyway, it really doesn't matter. This 3" memory foam topper/pad is fantastic. I stopped writing in order to lie down on it just for the sake of this review (Ah, the sacrifices we make) and it felt even better for my spine/neck than I remembered. And yes, my guests did appreciate the new feel - they'd slept on the bed before. I already know that I will have several good years for the guest bed now. An excellent value!

Mattress topper is extremely comfortable. I would HIGHLY reccommend this product. The smell dissipates throughout the weeks but it's highly worth it. I NEVER toss and turn anymore, where I used to ALWAYS on my previous setup. GET IT, you WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!! Especially since Overstock has it for a fraction of the RETAIL PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a cheap, uncomfortable mattress, this was extreme comfort!

This is comfortable and had no odor at all. It arrived in the morning and we used it the first night, and after a month, I am still sleeping wonderfully. It isn't so deep that it seems to bury you, but just the right cushioning. I do think it is a little small for our king size bed, and it tends to slide down if we prop up and read; that's the reason for the loss of star.

I've waited about 2 months before rating this foam topper and I can tell you that I love it. I have it in my guest bedroom, but whenever I can, I like to sleep on it. I have a feather bed topper on my own bed and although it is nice, my back usually starts hurting after a few hours. Once I lay down on the foam topper bed, I fall back to sleep and no back pain. I never did experience "the smell" that others have written about.....guess I should be glad.I just recently order another foam topper from Overstock, have not gotten it yet, but I'm very anxious to put it on "my bed". This isn't the same one as mentioned above so I hope I'm not disappointed. I will definitely write a review about the new one once I have tried it out.

This product is way more than what I was specting, I use to have lower back pair but, now is gone I like sleep on coulds.. grat deal smell goes away little by little but, still great buy.

We added this topper to a bed in our spare bedroom. It made a old hard bed very comfortable. I would recommend this topper and the price at Overstock was very reasonable.

THIS IS THE 2ND ONE I HAVE BOUGHT FROM OVERSTOCK. MY 1ST ONE WAS QUITE A FEW YEARS AGO AND ONLY A 2". BEFORE I BOUGHT MY 1ST ONE I WOULD WAKE UP CONSTANTLY WITH MY WHOLE BODY HURTING EVEN MY LEGS! KNEW I HAD TO FIND SOME KIND OF HELP SO TRIED MY 1ST MEMORY FOAM TOPPER! THE DIFFERENCE WAS FELT IMMEDIATELY! NOT TOTALLY PAIN FREE BUT AT LEAST AN 80% TO 90% IMPROVEMENT. YOU WON'T FIND THEM ANY LESS EXPENSIVE EITHER THAN ON OVERSTOCK... TRUST ME! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND... I SLEEP AND WAKE UP SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!! THANK YOU OVERSTOCK!!

I purposely purchased a topper with the highest density (4 pounds) that I could find. However, it was not as firm as I hoped. It is comfortable and has improved my sleeping and backache some, but not as much as I hoped. It still allows the sleeper to feel any slops/dips in the mattress. It opened up by itselfs quickly and the smell was gone within 24 hours. The foam can rip off easily and the first time I changed the sheets the elastic on the fitted sheet caught the edge and took a small chip out of it. I'm not going to test how fragile it is and will be more careful next time.

I had a memory foam mattress topper before but it was 5 yrs.old and it was time it needed to be replaced. My old memory foam topper was definitely not as good of quality as the Serta Memory Foam 3-inch Mattress Topper. I had shopped around before making this purchase and found that this was an excellent buy. I would recommend this to anyone! It is like sleeping on a cloud and will automatically allow you to get a much better night's sleep. Overstock rocks!

mattress was delivered really fast. box was ripped but everything was fine. glad i ordered king size for my queen like everyone suggested. topper did stink but went away after couple of days.

I was very pleased with the speed of delivery, and the quality of the product. I was a little disappointed in the thickness of the foam...it was thinner than I had hoped. I was a little nervous ordering something of this nature over the internet bacause I knew it would be very difficult to return if I was not satisfied.

What a great purchase! We just put this pad on top of a 2 1/2 year old, top of the line Simmons Beautyrest 19" pillow-top mattress. I am 50 and my wife is 49 and this mattress rapidly developed pressure points for each of us (hips, shoulders, knees, etc). We would wake up aching throughout our entire bodies. So we decided to give this pad a try and, WOW!, what a difference!!! We've had it 3 weeks now. I don't toss and turn nearly as much and we don't wake up feeling like we were run over by a truck sometime during the night. And it doesn't get hot like I was worried it might. This pad is a must for anyone who wakes up sore from their bed. Just make sure your fitted sheet can handle the extra 3" this pad adds on. Other than that, you'll never regret buying it!

I love this topper but can not recommend it - I found it way to soft and after 3 months it felt as if it needed to be replaced, even after I flipped it over all the time. It is in the attic now and I have to search for a new topper.

I wasn't expecting that big of a difference when I bought this. I first put the mattress cover over it and the mattress. Then the next night I took the mattress cover off and just put the fitted sheet directly over the pad. This is the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. It's hard to get out of bed every morning. This is a wonderful product!!! The only con is that it does have a somewhat strong odor.

I purchased this last December and waited to review it so I could see how the product held up etc. We really need a new mattress as ours is over 12 years old and we'd wake up in pain daily from it. Since purchasing a king sized mattress set was financially out of the question for us, I started researching memory foam toppers. I read all sorts of reviews etc. I was very leary and extremely worried about taking the plunge. We like really firm mattresses and I was worried this would be too soft for us. I have to say I am so HAPPY I bought this. We NEVER wake up in pain anymore. The bed is so comfy I can't believe it. When you first unroll it and await for it to become full sized, do not despair. Yes, it does stink. We aired ours out for about a week in a spare room and it was much better. It also got thicker with time as well (we were worried as it looked pretty thin at first). The king size topper is a bit shorter width wise than the size of our bed and I was worried about falling off of it or feeling it as I slept but nope... I had purchased a terry mattress pad from O and put it over the topper and mattress and we can't even tell there's a little shortage. I have to highly recommend this product. It's almost a year and it's held up great and has saved us money and medical problems!
