Serta
Started in 1931, Serta began producing mattresses during a time when people were looking to get the most for their dollar. Opening a business during an economic recession could have been a disaster for the burgeoning mattress company, but Serta was intent on producing quality mattresses that didn't sacrifice comfort for price. Sales skyrocketed, and soon Serta mattresses began to grow, despite a failing economy. Innovation in sleep technology has helped Serta remain of one the best-selling mattress brands in the United States. In 1976, Serta unveiled the world's first pillow-top mattress and has been making sleeping more luxurious ever since.
The Pillow Soft mattress may be what launched Serta to fame, but the Serta Perfect Sleeper could be the brand's most well-loved product. Created in 1983, the Perfect Sleeper is a foam hybrid mattress that combines convoluted foam with innerspring technology to make a mattress that is both supportive and soft. Serta has based a line of luxury beds off the Perfect Sleeper that has become popular in several hotel chains.
