I bought this for the sleeper sofa in our rental condo to replace the aweful pile of springs and wires that someone had called a mattress. My hope was that the renter would not have a terrible experience should that have to use the sleeper sofa but, honestly, how effective could 4.5 inches of foam be when up against those horrible springs in the frame. Well, I slept on it and was simply blown away. Not only did I not feel a single spring, it was like sleeping on a much thicker and very high quality mattress. Simply amazing!Read More
Ordered this mattress to replace the foam one that came with the sleeper sofa. After daily usage of opening/closing the sofa bed, this mattress has performed outside of my expectations. My 25 yr old son sleeps on it in our motorhome and says he is satisified. He says the crossbar is no longer noticable. Very happy with the price and quality, would definitely order another one if the opportunity presents itself.Read More
The 20-year-old mattress on my sofa bed was never all that good to start with, so it was beyond time to replace it. I wondered how successful it would be to have a memory foam mattress folded up the majority of the time inside the sofabed. It turns out that every time I open the bed, the mattress springs to life, no creases. Amazing. It came well-packaged and sealed in a large single sheet of plastic that was very easy to remove. (I wish I would have saved it to use as a drop cloth because it didn't tear when I removed it.) I didn't detect any outgassing from the foam itself. No smell. I was prepared to air it out for a day or two, but that wasn't necessary. I'm very happy with this purchase.Read More
I bought this mattress for a platform bed with storage underneath so it was already high and a regular mattress would of made it higher so when I saw this matress was only 4.5inches and memory foam so it would be supportive & comphy at the same time and it is and its wonderful and fits great .Read More
Tha mattress arrived in a timely manner and was just what I had hoped it would be.It is just firm enough and you can't feel the cross bar in the bed frame. We liked it so much that I ordered the 10" model for my own bed.I would definately recommend this mattress to any who are looking to upgrade their sofabed to a comfortable sleep unit,Paco.Read More
I have a very stylish full size love seat that was unbearable to sleep on with the sorry excuse of a mattress that came with it. I was embarrassed to make guests use it. Found this memory foam mattress specifically designed for pull outs, had to try it. The difference is about a thousand percent! Threw that original mattress in the trash. Here's what you need to do to make this mattress super comfortable...purchase a 2-3" memory foam topper to place over the mattress and go to a home center and purchase a 1/2" 4x8' piece if plywood and have it cut to fit your mattress frame, ( they do this free). When you know a guest is coming, unfold the bed, place the plywood sheet under the mattress and throw the memory foam topper on and your guests will not want to get up in the morning. The whole system costs far less than any mattress that could even begin to provide the same comfort. I store the plywood sheet in the garage and the 2" topper in the closet. When I have no guests, the love seat easily folds up with the mattress in it.Read More
Mattress is very comfortable. Was skeptical when purchasing because it was only 4.5" thick but all doubts are gone now that I have used the mattress.Read More
I was very hesitant to buy a mattress online, but took a chance based on all the amazing reviews. They were all right. I bought this to replace a cheap fold out mattress I had. This matress is super comfy. Memory foam is a different style than your typical mattress but it is great. It conforms to your body. I don't feel the bars in the bed or the awful springs like I did on the old mattress. Would recommend to anyone. For the price it is a great sleeper sofa mattress.Read More

This does not have ties.
If I place this mattress on top of the existing sofabed mattress, will I be able to close the sofa? Will it damage either mattress if I do that?

Memory Foam Bed FAQs
Anyone who is looking for the ultimate in sleeping comfort will be hard pressed to find an option better than a memory foam bed. Getting a full night's sleep depends a lot on the support of your mattress, and memory foam mattresses offer luxurious, modern comfort. You may have questions about this material, as many people shopping for memory foam do. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about memory foam beds, so you can shop for your new mattress with confidence.
How to Select a Memory Foam Mattress
If you wake up with sore shoulders or an aching back, your old mattress is probably to blame. When you upgrade to a memory foam mattress, you'll enjoy comfortable nights on the viscoelastic foam that was originally developed by NASA scientists. To make sure you get the best mattress for your needs, you'll want to consider these factors while you're online shopping for a memory foam mattress.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
Box Spring Mattress Fact Sheet
Box spring mattress sets first gained popularity among North American consumers in the 1930s. Despite persuasive newcomers, such as latex and memory foam mattresses, many people still choose a box spring mattress when selecting a new bed. Best Reasons to Have a California King Bed
Similar in size to a standard king bed, a California king bed is four inches longer, allowing a lot of extra room top to bottom. A California king bed measures 72 inches wide and 84 inches long, and a standard king mattress measures 76 inches wide and 80 inches long, so while a California king mattress is four inches longer, it is also about four inches thinner than a standard king bed. Making a decision between the two might be difficult. Ultimately, both are great options, but there are a few conditions that might make a California king size bed the clear choice. Before you pick which king mattress is right for you, here are a few of the best reasons to choose a California king bed.

Unique Ways to Use a Memory Foam Mattress Topper

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses
Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body.
