I had read the previous reviews.. Overall wished it was firmer.... One downside is that it does retain body heat and is really bad during the summer...Read More
I bought this for an older travel trailer that badly needed something, and since I would be sleeping in it (I'm 62) I wanted a decent mattress. Also it was this rare size used in older RV's. I love it, high quality foam with 2" soft memory foam top, zipped into a quality quilted mattress cover. It was the full 8" as stated. I slept alone in it for 4 nights, and it was great, comfy and firm, then my 240# husband joined me on the 48" wide bed, and it did pull us in a bit. Still, I'm more than satisfied for the price, and I see that this item would be fabulous for children, college, and spare rooms, or just someone on a budget. Beats that other junk out there on the low end at the mattress stores. I put a cheap mattress cover on it, but would recommend a better padded one with a real cotton top to keep cooler.Read More

Does this mattress come as 1 piece or does it come in sections? The last one I bought from you came in 4 sections and boxes.
Hello belva, this will come in one piece. Thanks for shopping with us! A.S.
is this CertiPUR US non toxic foam?
Hi ys33333, this is not CertiPUR-US certified. Thanks for shopping with us! Sherri R.
What is the weight of this mattress?
Hello grammy1949, the mattress has a shipping weight of 49 pounds. Thank you for shopping with us.
Don't know the lbs, but had my 30 yr old son carry it in. Box almost 5' tall. A hefty mattress, rolled up tight. Do not open plastic wrap until on the bed!
Would this mattress be good enough to use at home as a full time mattress (for a child)? We have an antique bed frame that needs a 48x75 mattress. I dont want to cheap out on something as important as a mattress for my daughter, but cannot afford a custom made mattress either. Thanks
Hello, hamptons123. Hope your day is going well. This is a quality mattress. However, since the issue involves the health of a child, I recommend you discuss it with your child's pediatrician before deciding whether or not to buy. Thank you for shopping with us and please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.
If your physician agrees, I recommend this mattress. It fits my antique bed and is firm. I recommend that you air out on a porch or balcony for a couple of days and if there is still a bit of odor use Febreze (that is what I did). Love this mattress.
Yes, and definitely yes. The zipped on cover is high quality also. You won't be ashamed of this!
Do I have to put a box spring under it or will this just sit flat down on the the board?
Either way but your mattress would sit very low.
where can i find a short size platform bed for this mattress. the one I like here is 57 by 79 and does not fit the 48 inch size of this mattress.
This item is an RV mattress so it is a bit smaller than the average platform bed, so it may be difficult to find.
Memory Foam Bed FAQs
Anyone who is looking for the ultimate in sleeping comfort will be hard pressed to find an option better than a memory foam bed. Getting a full night's sleep depends a lot on the support of your mattress, and memory foam mattresses offer luxurious, modern comfort. You may have questions about this material, as many people shopping for memory foam do. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about memory foam beds, so you can shop for your new mattress with confidence.
Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses
