Got this light thinking it was round. It is not! It's Oval! Great looking light, but would not work with the room since it is oval! No where did it say the light was oval! If you know this light is oval, and that's what you want, this light is perfect. Overstock.com return it with no problems. Good Times.

Very nice quality...we too were surprised to find that this was eliptical in shape, rather than round, but worked just fine where we needed it.

It's a nice fixture, heavy and very ornamental--but it is oval, not round (as indicated by the diameter measurement), and will take two people to install.

Purchased 4 that were all professionally installed. We utilized correct bulbs and about six weeks later one of the glass covered exploded. The design is unique, but could have a dangerous defect. Use caution.

I have bought several items from Overstock and this has to be the biggest dissapointment.The quality of this light is poor. Not all the parts were there, the shade does not fit into the frame.It is MUCH bigger than it shows in the picture, and it is oval, not round..

These lights are great. Put one in a long hallway and another in a small bathroom. They are very oval in shape so if you are looking for a round look elsewhere. Really nice finish. They look nicer than the picture. No surprises with the color of glass. My electrician put them up and the only thing he said might be a bit hard for the novice was the shorter screws, they just fit. They take 2 60W bulbs so plenty of light.

Lights up our counters wonderfully, so much so that we will probably need to get those under the cabinet lights because in comparison it is so dark under there now. My husband placed it perfectly in front of the range and sink areas so shadows are not an issue. There were some grumblings about getting into the attic, but other than that the install went smoothly. The curvy rim of the fixture goes well with the crown molding of the cabinets, and all the light really shows off the cabinets as well. It could be so bright because he put fluorescent bulbs in there. This makes it all the better that I can have so much light but it is not costing much. It is a nice fixture to bring lots of general light into a room and should go nicely with most traditional decor.

This fixture is unique. It is oval, not round like the picture. But, I knew it would be oval when I ordered it, because of the reviews on here. Anyway, it's shape may not fit well in certain areas.We have it in a small entry way and the fixture gives the small area presence and lots of light. I personally like the look, however, IMO ... and mind you, in a humorous way, it looks like a ship at sea. Possibly the Niña, Pinta, or Santa Maria? The oval shape will throw off some folks. But it is a lovely light fixture and very well made.

before i bought this ceiling fixture, i read other people's review. i know it is oval shape. after i installed it, the longer side looks perfect and pretty but the shorter side looks funny. may be because the ratio isn't right. other than that i am very happy with overstock.com. they always delivered on time.

This is a wonderful light fixture it is oval shaped not circular, but I find that to be a nice change. The oval shape of this fixture looked great in my hallways (which are narrow). The installation however was somewhat difficult. The directions are not very comprehensive and if you are not familiar with installing electrical items this would be a difficult install for you. My husband had to purchase new bolts due to the fact that the bolts provided with the fixture were not long enough. However this could be due to the way the electrical mounting hardware has been installed in my ceiling.The fixture itself is heavy and made of a resin material. The bronze coloring is done quite well and in my opinion did not look cheep. The globe is frosted white and despite that fact gives off a nice bright light with a 60 watt bulb. I believe this is a result of the silver backing in the fixture. Overall lovely purchase and a great price!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the price and the product!! Thanks again Overstock!!!

I have a rectangular foyer, so this light being oval looks like it was made to be there! It is lovely! A bit tedious to install, but once it was up it just looks great! Thanks Overstock!!
