I bought this couch for my daughter in October of 2009. It took about 3 1/2 weeks to get it and when it came I was surprised at how cheaply built it was. It had plastic legs, not wood. It's now April of 2010 and the couch is totally falling apart! The cheap wood frame broke under a leg, the cheap foam in the cushions is all lumpy and my daughter's elbow went through the armrest! Overstock.com would only credit my visa ****** and I paid ******* for this POS couch! I will never use Overstock.com again! Buyer beware that they sell inferior products!

This sectional is exactly everything I hoped it would be! Delivery was a breeze and we got it within 2 wks of ordering. I was able to unwrap and assemble all pieces within an hour, without using any tools other than a utility knife to cut away all the plastic and tape. Once assembled, I was so impressed with the style, look & comfort that I was at a loss for words initially. The material is soft and comfy and the cushions are soft too, but firm enough to hold up well. It is a perfect addition to the space I'm decorating and large enough to seat several people without being crowded out. I still can't believe the price! I am extremely pleased with my purchase that I would definitely consider purchasing other furniture items from Overstock!

I recieved this sofa for the bonus room a couple of weeks after ordering it. The delivery service was kind enough to take it upstairs for me for no extra cost. They washed their hands before even beginning. When they unwrapped the protective plastic that came with it , it had a few red smears of some sort from the manufacturing plant. I got them off with some carpet cleaner because i didnt want to wait another 2 months for a second sofa. The delivery guys took less than 15 minutes bringing it upstairs and putting it together. it is very light for a sofa which probably means it wont last too long but it is very comfortable. The look of this sofa is exactly what we were going for. I just wish the manufacturing plant would double or triple check this sofa out before leaving for shipment. Besides the stains, the ease of cleaning it was a breeze so that was a plus because I knew I would be able to clean it in the future. I do own some slip covered sofas in my living room which were a lot more expensive but i can take off the slip covers and clean them whenever i want. I think that with children that is a must and since these are not slip covered if i have to buy another sofa to replace this one, i definitely will go the slip covered route in the future. Yet, fot the money you spend on this sofa including shipping and handling... it is a great purchase and a very comfortable sofa that is nice to look at...

I was incredibly nervous about ordering a couch online, but I am very happy with the results. We have a couch we love, and it is high quality and affordable. PROS: comfort (a little firm, but every one in my house likes it), high quality bonded leather -- looks and feels like leather, will not be mistaken for vinyl like some leather blends, very stylish, easy to put together, fast shipping (~2 weeks total) CONS: the back cushions Velcro on, sometimes when people move it makes annoying sounds because the Velcro comes unattached and reattaches. The legs are plastic, and look a little cheap, but it isn't that noticeable. Small amount of damage in shipping -- not noticeable, so we ignored it. Some of the stitching was loose on one of the arms, but Overstock helped us get this repaired locally (great customer service!).

*** Before I say anything else, I want to point out that you should beware of any glowingly positive review on this website that doesn't include specific details. Some of them are cross-posted verbatim on multiple items. *** Some basic shipping information. The couch shipped in two separate cardboard boxes (the "loveseat" and the "chaise") on a single pallet. There was no shipping damage at all. Each box weighed about 50 kg. After a friend helped me lug them up to my second-floor apartment, I unpacked and assembled them myself, although this was a bit of an adventure. ** The boxes say "Made in China" in big letters, and it really shows. This couch has the quality we've come to expect from cheap manufactured goods: they look fine on the outside, but the more you examine them the crummier they are. (Although for $700 I expected better.) The microfiber has a smooth sort of texture, unlike other microfiber couches I've seen, as if it were worn out and going bald. The leather claims to be real, but feels a bit like vinyl. The cushions are very firm for a couch, like an extra-extra-firm bed. They feel a little bit like that sculpted plastic packing foam that comes with expensive electronics. The two little cushions are reasonably soft, but they really showcase the unpleasant texture of the upholstery. ** The picture where they've unfolded the couch into a double bed is misleading, because they've included the ottoman (sold separately). Without the ottoman, you get approximately a twin-size, with the chaise forming a funky little nightstand. ** A word about the construction of the couch. The frame for each of the two sections is basically an open-topped box, apparently made of plywood and particleboard (I can't tell for sure because it's all covered in black cloth). The seat is attached to the sides of the box frame using a linkage that allows it to slide forward and tip back, exposing the storage space underneath. The two sections attach to each other and to the armrests using metal clasps also mounted to the sides of the boxes. The gliding-forward action is nice, but not enough; if you back the couch all the way up to the wall, you won't be able to open the storage area properly, let alone recline the back. ** The main assembly procedure is attaching the hard plastic feet. This is easy but very hit-or-miss: some of them inevitably don't fit quite right. I had to modify some of them with my drill just to make the screw cap fit into the molded recess. They also give you two goofy little angle brackets to attach the armrests with, but the first one was so flimsy and fit so poorly that I didn't see any reason to continue and install the second one. ** The open-topped box construction is simple and elegant, and provides lots of storage. It's also pretty flimsy. If I pull on the armrest, it. wobbles. If you accidentally kick it a few times from the inside, you might crack the box frame. If you're the handy sort, you can probably figure out a way to mount a metal brace across the entire width of both boxes to make them more rigid side-to-side, but if you don't do it right you'll probably just make the structural problems worse, so that it breaks in multiple places instead of just one. ** No part of the upholstery is removable for washing. They tell you to wipe it with a damp cloth, but I have a feeling that won't cut the mustard if you spill wine or something else that stains badly.

With active toddler and an infant, our main desire in a new sofa was first and foremost that it was durable. As a secondary interested, we were looking for something with a chaise, but not so large as to overtake our family room. We've had the sofa setup for a little over 2 weeks, and we have been quite pleased with it. In the brief time, my darling daughter has already stress tested this sofa with many drink spills, food smears, and climbing all over it. The spills have so far cleaned-up quite easily, with no evident discoloration of the material, and the climbing hasn't left any noticeable scuffs. The quality of assembly also seems quite good, at least no noticeable imperfections or issues, my one nit here is that the legs are inexpensive plastic held in by a single long screw, would want that bit improved - though it seems to do the job and isn't noticeable when looking at the sofa. In terms of comfort, we had a soft sofa before this one, so it's taken some adjustment as this sofa is much more towards the firm end. Also, the large threads can be felt as you slide across the couch, but are not noticeable if you're just sitting on the couch. Though, the chaise works out well, and we can fit one parent and the toddler (partly climbing on the parent) on the chaise, making enough room for a family of four. As the description states, this is bonded leather rather than pure natural leather, though it has a good feel to it (better than vinyl, but not as 'rich' as leather), though happy with the trade-off as that is what we needed to stand-up to our intrepid daughter.

Fabric feels cheap and looks like flimsy paper coated with black plastic bag. Hard to stomach that this thing looms in my living room now. Returning the couch costs between * which I cannot afford. Delivery was prompt. Legs missing. Overstock is sending them. Lesson learned - I will never make a large purchase like this on line again.

Design is nice. Bonded leather feels pretty good, feels like leather and not plastic like some other couches in that price range. Foam padding is firm yet comfortable. Sofa looks even better than in the photos. Stitching is really nice. Only the plastic legs look kind of cheap (although I'm sure they won't break), but you don't get to see them when you are sitting. Couch arrived two weeks after we ordered it, very well protected (packed in cardboard, bubblewrap and shrinkwrap). It's not very heavy (we had to carry it up stairs to 3rd floor), but still feels quite sturdy.

Good sturdy piece and easy to clean, which is good because my dog sheds a lot. Two minuses, one being the chaise and loveseat cannot be connected, so without slip pads or putting it on carpet, they will separate as they shift especially since my dog runs and leaps onto the couch. Two - I have wood laminate floors and the feet have these hard white plastic nubs which dug marks into the wood. I had to use padded, nonstick pads on the bottom to combat both the slipping and the marks on the floor... assesmbly was not terrible, but the wrenches they provide are quite laughable.

I was disappointed with the comfort. I was expecting firm, as it IS leather. But it's hard as a rock. I dont know what people are talking about that it's so comfortable they wish they could sleep on it. I tried sleeping on it. It felt like sleeping on a gym mat laid over a hardwood floor. My family spends a lot of time in the livingroom, and now nobody wants to be in there because it's not cozy anymore. I was also a little disappointed with the look of the leather. It's an odd sort of matte finish that makes it look like pleather. I've seen a lot of leather couches, but this one seems kind of plastic looking. Which makes me wonder how much of the couch is leather, and how much is the "leather match". On the bright side, it seems to be of good quality. We've had it for a few months and my son bounces all over it every day. It's holding up so far. Beware, if you DO Have pets or kids, this single-tone matte finish does not do well with hiding smudges. You pretty much just have to touch it and it looks dirty. The good thing is, it's easy to wipe down. All in all it's probably a good piece of furniture for the money, especially since it's supposedly leather, but it was not at all what I was hoping for. I wish I could exchange it.

We were super excited about this sofa, based on all the reviews. When it arrived, we were really disappointed. It doesn't look, feel or smell like real leather. It looks like cheap pleather. There wasn't a materials tag, and we couldn't find any seams to check. If this is real leather, they did something weird to it, like coat it in plastic. I've always been happy with Overstock, but they blew it on this one. And now I'm told it could cost ast much as *** to return it.

No one would ever believe what I paid for this sofa. great quality for very good price. I did have a problem with the legs, I could not find them. I did not see anywhere in the box telling me legs are inside bottom of sofa, look for zipper. Legs are plastic so I hope they will last. I don't care for the velcro holding cushions up (noisey) and the hinges that allow back to fold down for packing, but I will get past that because I love the sofa.

I love this sofa! It was exactly what I was hoping for. I have never purchased furiture from Overstock so I was a little nervous that the sofa would not be as described. I am very pleased with it. It arrived much sooner than I expected (less than 3 weeks) and is the color and size I expected. I did read reviews before buying so I did know that the legs were plastic; I did not know that they were hollow. This does concern me. I am worried about them standing up to time. I had also read that the sofa was very firm, which it is BUT I tend to sit in one area and that area has started to soften a little so I am fine with it. The reason I only gave the 4 stars was the delivery. The shipper was courteous, set delivery up for when it was most convenient for me BUT they only sent ONE guy. I would not have purchased the sofa except that the product page said I would receive the "White glove delivery". Well, I did not get it. The delivery guy and I sort of looked at each other for a minute and then he said he would help me get it up to my apt. It is too long to fit on a pallet and too heavy to carry so this poor guy and I had to push and pull this thing from a freight dock to elevators and then down the hall to my apt. It was hard and frankly, I am mad. I wll not buy furniture from Overstock ever again just because of the delivery problem, I am not going to find myself pushing and pulling a 200lb box ever again.

We purchased the Samara 3-Piece Reclining Sectional from Overstock.com because it seemed like a good price for the product, after shopping around to different furniture and department stores. We were a bit skeptical about the idea of buying furniture without being able to see and sit on it, but we gave it a shot. This was our first purchase from Overstock.com, so I don't know whether the results below are typical, or if we just had a bad experience. THE GOOD: 1) The Samara 3-Piece Reclining Sectional looks just like it does in the picture, and it is fairly comfortable. THE BAD: 1) The description of the sectional online states that five (5) individual sections of the couch recline, which is inaccurate. Only four (4) sections actually recline. 2) The quality of the sectional is lower than what we expected, even for a well-priced item from Overstock.com. The backs of the couch, which must be attached to the seats, do not snugly fit into the seats and are somewhat loose, even after installation. 3) The reclining mechanism is activated by pulling a cheap plastic handle that is located between the seat cushions and the arm rests (you literally need to dig between the two to find the handle). 4) No instructions are included for installation, although this is a minor point, as it's pretty easy to put together. 5) We used the tracking function provided in the e-mail from Overstock.com, which listed the delivery status of the sectional as "Delivered" one week before we actually received it. When I called to inquire about this, there was a lot of confusion. Eventually we learned that "Delivered" meant that it was delivered to another company, which would later deliver the product to our house. I did not find the tracking function to be useful.

Although the sofa took 3 weeks to arrive, it was absolutely worth it! Like other reviews have noted, the only 2 minor flaws of the product are that 1) the legs are plastic (albeit heavy duty) and 2) the sofa & chaise do not connect. The legs are certainly sturdy enough; it's mainly a cosmetic quirk. The 2 pieces did slide around a bit, but I just used a small piece of gripper material that's made to go under area rugs & that did the trick. We (the whole family, including 4 dogs) just love this sectional! I took the risk & bought the piece sight unseen, based on other reviews & I'm really glad I did. It's great in our small living room ...... very sturdy, attractive & most of all, comfortable. It replaces an oversized couch & chair combo, which were just too large for the space & seats even more people & dogs. customer service person on "live chat" was extremely helpful with exact measurements & she spent a lot of time with me while I ran around the room with a measuring tape. All in all, a great product that not only looks beautiful , but will stand up to the kind of usage it will get in our house. I highly recommend this product.

In about a year the cushions would not return to the unsquished shape. Because there is velcro to hold them in place, you cannot turn them over and get more even wear. The legs are plastic. There were no springs just cross webbing of a material that stretches and makes you feel like you are sitting in a hole. The whole couch went into the trash in May 2013, which means this couch was worthless in 2.5 years! If it cost half what it did, it might be okay, but for $***, this was a total and blatant ripoff!!!!!

We wanted a sectional but do not like the big bulky type, this is perfect. Found this one which had good reviews. It was so easy to assemble, light weight, packing was good, and once set up, really added to the room. Lower slouch pillows. It has a lighter gleam so shows dirt and seems like the material will tear if larger pet's claws are on it often. Our cat claws seem fine. So comfortable! Firm but giving! May imprint or compress over time (we are fit/average in weight) but I am guessing. Two tall adults stretch out horizontally, comfortably. We did not put the feet on it and it still looks good. Pleather (plastic/leather) bottom does look on the plastic side, but ours is against a wall in the t.v. room, so the back is not seen. All that see it compliment about the look and those that sit on it, love it. Can't beat the value. Buy!

I am stunned to have received such an awful product. The other reviews were very good on this sofa, but I just received it today and set it up, and am SO disappointed!! It is made so cheaply, I am afraid it will break when I sit on it. The fabric is thin and very poor quality. The black backing on a cream sofa, can be seen from the front. The legs are made out of plastic, not wood. The measurements are off by at least 3-4 inches on length and width, than advertised! The seams are crooked and it just looks over all, SO bad, I am too embarrassed to have it in my home. I am hoping I can sell it to a college student, who won't care, for a fraction what I paid for it. I learned my lesson: NEVER buy furniture from Overstock.

the fabric could tear any second and you MUST put a blanket on it to protect it. there is no cover or way of dry cleaning it. The legs are made of plastic.

For the price, you really cannot beat this couch. There was some issues regarding delivery since Overstock uses a 3rd party to deliver the item and the 3rd party pretty much leaves the item wherever they see fit on a date that they see fit, and reaching them is not easy, but all in all, this is a bargain. You will never find such a stylish, comfortable and sleek couch anywhere for under $1,000. All of my friends could not believe what I paid for it. Its one of the most comfortable couches I've ever had the pleasure of watching Sunday night tv on and I hope it remains as comfortable and gorgeous as it currently is for years to come. The leather is super soft and it just feels luxurious. There's no other way to describe sinking into this bad boy. It makes me feel wealthy in my 10x10 foot pre war NYC apartment. The only issue is that my cats have already scratched up the sides so I have resorted to placing a plastic cover on the couch when I'm gone during the day. Oh well.

It is a little scary to buy such a large piece of furniture with no previous customer ratings from a photograph on a website but I am very satisfied with the Artistant House Sectional by Marthena Home Furnishings, which looks just like the picture on the site and is well made. It took the maximum time allowed to ship but then arrived within a week. It actually took me by surprise because I never received tracking information from Overstock after shipment to give me more advance notice. That would have been useful because I planned to travel to a different state to receive the couch. The shipping company was very nice and helpful. The driver was able to bring each of the four pieces with a dolly through double doors into a ground level living room. That was a blessing because two of the pieces are large and heavy. The sectional was very well protected and packed with a cover, bubble wrap, cardboard and plastic wrap. The four pieces were together on their own pallet and arrived in perfect condition. I had a moment of worry that the wrong item had been shipped because the photograph of the sectional visible on the packing looked very different from the photograph on the website. It showed a lighter orangey-brown color wood table. Also the perspective and the lighting changed the appearance completely. The driver and I really had to focus and only the same product number lead us to believe it was the right item. The actual couch looks like the photograph on the website, not the photo on the packing. The quality is good with clean lines and no puckering. The seats are firm and very comfortable. The wood table is actually very dark. The only drawback for me is the built-in light fixture. I like the shape and the concept but it uses a fluorescent tube, which creates a strong, very white and hard light. That does not match the warmer incandescent lighting in the rest of the room and I need to change it. I plan to tint the glass, or replace it with a warmer looking type of glass, or find a remnant of translucent white onyx, which should be quite spectacular. All in all, I am very please with the purchase, which is an excellent value for the look and comfort it offers.
