Greenwashed
Ordered this thinking the price for a nontoxic mattress was too good to be true - and guess what? It totally is. Upon opening the packaging, a strong plastic smell emitted from the mattress. It was quickly apparent that the mattress has a layer of non-removable off-gassing plastic material. I contacted the manufacturer (Sealy via Kolcraft) by email inquiring about this "protective wrap" and was told it is vinyl. Vinyl, aka PVC, you know, that stuff that has plasticizers added to it to make it pliable enough to be used for mattress covers; plasticizers that never stop leaching out of the PVC and that have been shown to be endocrine disrupters and neurotixicants. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Soooo ... I guess we're supposed to just be happy that they are using organic cotton and not spraying it with toxic compounds ... and ignore all of the VOCs coming out of the vinyl and into our precious ones' faces? Talk about "greenwashing"! I was excited to find such a good deal on a seemingly nontoxic mattress, but I guess I'm going to have to suck it up and pay double for a true non-toxic crib mattress (Naturepedic, LA Baby organic 2-in-, etc).

It looks wonderful
My new granddaughter is not born yet, but we are so excited about being grandparents. The mattress is organic and did not have any of the smelly odors that we were warned about. The mattress came in perfect condition and we can hardly wait to use it.

Sealy Naturalis Organic Cotton Crib Mattress
I purchased this mattress after several weeks of shopping around, price comparing & reading up on what kind of mattress is safest for baby, I am highly satisfied with my final choice & I am happy with the value I recieved from the "O"!! I recieved the item in less than a week the packaging was perfect no product damages. The matress itself is that same oatmeal type color just as it appears in the photograph online, It has that organic cotton cover but is nice & firm for safety reasons, I looked at several different stores to price compare and the "O" had the best price around they beat every competitor by appox. ***. This is a nice mattress by a trusted brand and I think it will last through the toddler bed years until I convert the crib over to the full size head board & footboard. I would highly recommend this product!!

great value but softer mattress
I bought two organic crib mattresses this year - this one and another that cost $300 and was much sturdier...but if I had only ordered this one, I'm sure I would have been even more satisfied.
