I am a frustrated customer.
First of all the bed came in great time and is definitely a two person job. Also, they have live assistance who will help you with questions as you put the bed together.
Yet, one of the screws broke as we put the bed together (the wood was very difficult to get through on one side of the bed) and the screws we ordered were NEVER delivered. We went to the hardware store and bought our own screws and put the bed together. Then in the middle of the night I hear a CLUNK and look under the bed to see the middle support leg FELL OFF. The inside of the leg that screws on came off and the leg just fell of the bed. We ordered new legs and after 2 weeks of waiting they finally came and they were black instead of wood colored which was weird because the ones we had were wood colored so we thought we had had the wrong legs to begin with... WRONG. They sent us the wrong legs which we learned after we put them on and realized they were too BIG AND regardless one of those legs was broken! It wouldn't screw in all the way! SO my bed was wobbily and broken so we had to put the old (broken) legs back on the bed so that I have somewhere to sleep and I had to call yet again to get new legs to be delivered and just HOPE that these ones are the correct legs and are actualy usable!
If I could go back in time I probably would not buy this bed. Save your time and spend a little more money and maybe get something that you can put together in one shot and have it for years.
The wood is fantastic, you don't need a box spring (coming from a girl with metal rods in her back so you know I mean business) and the color is great but with all of these issues all in all it just doesn't seem worth it.
The bed is nice...maybe you'll have better luck than me.
I read all the reviews before ordering this and felt confident that I had made a well-informed buy... I was so so wrong. First of all, I was missing a few parts. Secondly, one of the end boards didn't have threading AT ALL so I had to go and buy material to put in the hole to allow the screw to stay and tighten and then buy l brackets to ensure that it worked. Also, the center support rail was cracked when we took it out of the box and the 3 support posts that go down the middle were too short and didn't even touch the ground. Now we're going to have to buy a piece of plywood to place inside of it so we don't break all of the supports. I'm so upset about this, I could cry.
I felt for the words "Scandinavia", "Materials: Solid Wood, Mixed Hardwoods" and "Sturdy design and construction" and learned my lesson of buying such things online.
Material is just simple and cheap engineered wood and it broke in the first night with two people on it.
Despite the reviews I did not choose the warranty and protection plan, so I am left with a expensive firewood.

Got this as a Christmas present for my daughter. My wife was hesitant about ordering furniture online. After checking around town, we could not find anything that matched the quality, features and price. Love the fact that it's all solid wood. The finish is beautiful. Very minimalistic - but sturdy and functional. Also, got the mattress for this frame from Overstock - love it too!!!
After reading so many great reviews on this product, I took a chance and I regret it big time. There were missing directions so I had to wait for Overstock to send them to me. After setting the bed up, it appeared to be sturdy and looked decent. After 4 NIGHTS, I heard some loud cracking noises. I got up and noticed that the end (bottom) of the bed was sagging. Upon lifting up the mattress, two of the three support legs were broken and off to the side. I took the mattress off and lifted the frame up. I could clearly see that the support rail was cracked and all three legs were broken (the third support leg was very lose and on it's way to being broken). I wrote to Overstock and hope that they will be very responsive to this issue. I would really like to get my mattress off of the floor and back on a functioning bed frame. After all, I did pay for this product and I expect it to work as expected. ***To Be Continued**Sidenote: I found this bed on the distributor's website and noted that the newer Stockholm Bed has 4 support legs that appear to be of more durable construction. Interesting.

I've researched queen platform beds for several weeks, most were constructed of particle board and covered in vinyl, cheaply made. I decided on the Scandanavia Bed because of it's ALL wood construction, though I was a bit hesitant ordering online. I did place the order, paid NO shipping and it was delivered right to my front door within 7 business days! It took me and my daughter to carry it into the house. I opened the box, followed the simple directions and took the pieces upstairs (by myself) to my bedroom as I needed them to begin assembly...side boards first then headboard & footboard, etc to assemble. Very easy, it came with the tool to install the nuts & bolts. I only needed a power screwdriver to screw in the slats. It was ready to place a mattress on it in under 2 hours. I love it and I highly recommended this bed to my friends and family, one of the best purchases I made online!
Bought this piece three years ago. Within the last six months, the support rails have broken in two places. It really doesn't make a lot of sense for the entire weight of the mattress (even when distributed evenly over the frame area by the wooden slats) to be supported by tiny pieces of wood about the size of quarter-round molding attached to the interior of the frame. It's pretty easy to shear those right off, and that's exactly what happened to mine. Waste of money.
This is a simple bed, but very solid and sturdy. We bought it for our adult son who is 6'4" and 300 lbs. My husband was even able to attach the headboard from his previous bed, which broke, to this bed. I think the bed is a great value.
I brought this bed under the assumption that it was made of oak. The bed started cracking after one month and needed to be supported by books. I'm not a heavy guy and can't understand why the bed is falling apart if it's made of "oak". Don't buy this bed, it's a waste of money. Get something built to last.
The product details indicate that there are 2 storage compartments under the bed which are not shown in any of the pictures. Is this a mistake or are there storage compartments?richardking1213 on Feb 28, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello richardking1213, the details are just advising how much space there is underneath the bed frame for storage. There are no actual compartments included with the frame. I purchased this bed over a year ago, and over time the center support legs that initially did not reach the floor are now barely attached to the bed. I am afraid that the middle of the bed is going to collapse (and I weigh under 120 pounds). Are there any kind of replacement legs or instruction for reattaching the legs once they have stripped the holes they were screwed into? I'd hate to have to purchase a new bed after having this one for such a short period of time.acb345 on Feb 18, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Have someone look at the support beams while you are laying on the bed. The cross beams are supposed to flex, such that the support legs touch when there is weight placed on them.happywithmyself on Feb 20, 2013
That makes sense, but unfortunately the support legs in the center of my bed have stripped the holes they were screwed into, making them so loose when they do touch the floor, they are no longer vertical, but rather at a 30-45 degree angle. This offers absolutely no support to the center of the bed when weight is placed on it.acb345 on Feb 20, 2013
You can adjust the legs every so often which is not hard even for a small person like yourself. I'm 100 lbs heavier and it stll holds me uph8fultom on Mar 13, 2013
Our middle support never was right. I measure the distance from support to floor, had a piece cut at the lumber yard & put it them in myself. I just have to be careful if I move the bed to take the mattress off so as not to drag it around. That will strip the screws & break it. Good luck!goodnitesaigon on Mar 19, 2013
see it there is a glue you and put into the stripped hoels and attached the leg back into the hole before it dries and it the legs arnt long enough too touch the floor get a block of wood and slide it under the leg until the the bed feels supported a little better. That should help, or get ahold of where you purchased it and see what they can do for you...wmr54 on Apr 3, 2013
Some reviews indicate that the slats are too far apart to support a memory foam mattress and that 1/4 inch plywood is recommended for support. Is that accurate? Thanks.karma2012 on Dec 6, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The slats are close together and cover the entire base. I just have an 8" memory foam mattress on it and feel like it's more than enough support. I honestly don't have a single complaint about this product! (YEA!!!!)overstockcustomercare1 on Dec 6, 2012
I have a 16" firm/dense memory foam that is very well supported. The distance apart is reasonable. I did have to take add any additional support. I have two frames. One full & one queen, both with 16" memory foam. It's been a year and they're doing well.goodnitesaigon on Apr 3, 2013

What kind of headboard fits into this bed? Can any one suggest please? on Jan 9, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
As a platform bed, this item is not set up for a headboard. However, if you are handy you can drill the holes it would require to add a headboard. In this case, you could use any headboard but the item would no longer be returnable.overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 12, 2012
