Well, I thought the base was more of a metal material. It seems somewhat plastic like. Not quite sure how to explain it. That is why I gave a 4 for workmanship. It is still very nice and it is actually bigger than I expected. Very elegant though.
I was hesitent to buy the glass flutes through the internet being that they were for my friend's 25th anniversary and I didn't know what the quality on this order would be. But despite my reservations i did anyway. Well, I'm gald I did because they are so beautiful, from the glass down to the base, where the details of it are just gorgeious, just like I saw them on the internet. My friends loved them, they were the perfect buy!
