Do not buy this item. It is of very low quality and had to be replaced in less than a year.Read More
We bought this mattress to go on a platform bed which was also purchased from Overstock. It is for our spare bedroom and our recent quest found the mattress to be very comfortable. I slept on it and also think it's a very comfortable mattress. I never slept on memory foam before and was very pleased with the feel. There is a slight chemical smell when you first unroll the mattress. We aired it for a few days and the smell was gone. It also took a few days for the mattress to rise to its eight inch height after being compressed for shipping. I am glad I purchased this product and would definitely recommend it.Read More
This is an entry-level foam mattress from what I've seen during my research. Being a first-time foam-only mattress customer, I had my reservations but for <$300 price rage, 8" and cooling gel, I decided to give it a try. Here's a list of what I wanted in this new mattress: 1. SUPPORT - Firm support throughout the body 2. COOLING - Stays cool during the night (I tend to sweat a lot during sleep during WINTER) 3. ODOR - Chemical-like smell not lingering too long 4. ADJUSTING SPEED - Foam adjusting to body heat within a few minutes at most Here's a list of how the product stacked up: 1. SUPPORT - All-body support, even distribution of my weight allows toss-free, comfortable sleep 2. COOLING - So far I haven't woken up with sweat drenched back so I think cooling technology works 3. ODOR - When I got the mattress, the chemical-like odor wasn't too bad. Nonetheless, I put it on my living room floor and ran the air purifier on HIGH for a day. When I started using it, I never had odor problems. By all means if you SNIFF it deliberately, it WILL have that chemical smell, but not enough to bother you in your room or when you're sleeping on it. 4. ADJUSTING SPEED - As a spring mattress user of past, I do at times like sleeping on my sides and worried if the foam would adjust too slowly and cause muscle/spine strain. However, the mattress contoured to my body relatively quickly... like within a minute or two at most, and delivered great comfort. Overall, this is a great low-priced mattress for anyone who's starting out living alone or buying the first mattress. It obviously won't compare to a $2000 spring + memory foam topper mattress or a $4000 Tempurpedic, but does its job and does it WELL. For additional info, you can put this directly on floor (I'd put a sheet underneath or something to keep it clean) or do what I did and buy a $70 metal bed frame from Spa Sensations (Sold through Walmart.com) and get a nice elevation + mattress support. (Plus 12" clearance for storage under the bed) This is a great first-time foam mattress I can recommend for budget-conscious customers.Read More
this was a big fail.. bought mid-range foam mattress and felt cheated... good for about 3 months and then a distinctive dip developed in the middle of the mattress. That;s the worse thing to happen in a bed.. never mind firmness and softness...the dip rendered this mattress unusable after a year. big waste of money... had to shop for another one.Read More
I am 5ft 8inches and about 230 lbs. I wanted to try a different type of bed as I had a old spring mattress so I got this one (and it was much more expensive back then). It took some time getting used to, as it is still warm, even with the "Cool sensations" Also, it does not bounce at all...you sink in after a few minutes. After sinking in, you pretty much don't move the rest of the night, because it would take a conctrated effort to move, since you've sunken in. When I wake up in the morning, I realize that I haven't moved all night and that my rear end is basically touching the boxspring because I've sunken in so much. This is where the bounciness comes into effect...normally I'd be able to kind of rock myself out of bed and be able to 'bounce' out, but in this quicksand type bed, I have to really put some effort in getting out of bed. Obviously have not moved all night leaves me a little sore and stiff as well. Side note: I apologize for being crude but this is definitley something I've noticed as well. This bed, again due to the sinking, quicksand-like feel, doesn't lend it self well to procreation.Read More
This is one of the most comfortable mattress I have owned. We bought a $$$ mattress from serta from another store and that was suppose to be a pillow top and it was super stiff and really uncomfortable. We returned that mattress. So we wanted to go back to a memory foam. and this is the best one. I just have to say I save half of our money and it felt like a $$$$. Totally worth every penny!Read More
Product was everything as stated. Not too difficult to handle, or set up. Very comfortable, much better than any "traditional" mattress.Read More
I received the product undamaged and on time. I opened the package and we are still waiting for the mattress to expand to the 8 inch thickness. So far it is 5 inches thick. I am calling service today, to see what I need to do.Read More
For the price range, I recommend trying a mattress with a thicker 'topper' foam. The mattress comes rolled up, and is actually very easy to maneuver and roll on to the bed frame. I have had a Tempurpedic for 4 years now, and am so very in love with the quality of the Tempurpedic, but was purchasing this as a guest bed. I realize it is not fair to compare to a higher quality piece, but naturally, I at least have to compare the level of comfort to set the standard: 1) WHAT COVER? The description says it comes with a cover; mine definitely did not arrive covered in anything but the plastic for shipping. To Be Continued with Overstock... 2) COMFORT: The mattress feels great to lounge on, watch a movie, etc. Having slept on it for the first night, I woke up with back pain and shoulder aches, suddenly searching for a yoga workout to help realign my muscles to move normally once again. Granted I have had the bed only 4 days, so maybe it will get softer, but I have read that the top foam layer makes all the difference in quality of these types of mattresses, so would have possibly spent $50 extra to get an 11 inch thick foam mattress with a thicker top layer. 3) ODOR: There is an odor after 4 days, which I am hoping will continue to dissipate. 4) OVERALL: My guess is that this mattress is no different than other brands in the 8-inch, inexpensive foam bed category. However, I truly would not recommend to a friend. (I promise I don't work for Tempurpedic, but they run deals constantly, such as no interest for 4 years, which equates to a $45/ month payment for 4 years with no interest.) If you are purchasing this bed as someone hoping for a better night's sleep than a regular mattress, or with hope that it will compare to a higher-end foam mattress, it would be best to consider a Serta or Tempurpedic or another well-known brand where you can try it in the store first.)Read More

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses
How to Keep Cool with a Memory Foam Topper
You can instantly upgrade your mattress when you add a memory foam mattress topper. Memory foam toppers are made from high-density foam that works with your body heat to mold to your shape. This is great for winter temperatures or people who get cold while they sleep, but when temperatures heat up, you may experience trouble sleeping. Make sure your mattress topper is not deterring you from getting the rest you need. Consider these ideas for keeping your memory foam cool at night.
How to Choose a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
Memory foam, also called "temper foam," was first developed by NASA in the mid-1960s to ensure passenger comfort and protection in airplane seats. Memory foam mattress toppers mold to the body, and then slowly spring back to their original shape. This makes them ideal for those with back or joint pain. However, not all memory foam mattress toppers are the same. Here's how to choose one that will best suit your needs.
Top 5 Reasons for Buying an Air Mattress
Air mattresses aren't what they used to be. Nowadays, air mattresses offer a slew of sleep-inducing features, like pillow tops, memory foam mattress pads and even built in MP3s, vastly improving on their giant-sized, pool-toy predecessors. As features improve, air mattresses, also known as air beds, are becoming more and more popular and are being used for a number of different functions, even in place of regular mattresses. Keep reading to find out the top five ways that you can get the most out of your air mattress.
Top 5 Reasons to Own a Memory Foam Topper
If you like to sleep well, nothing will help you quite like a memory foam topper. Memory foam mattress toppers can turn any bed into a place of dreamy, soft comfort. There are a lot of reasons to own memory foam toppers, and everyone has a different motive for owning one. Not sure if you need a memory foam mattress topper? These reasons may change your mind.
Choosing the Right Density for Your Memory Foam Mattress
A decade ago, choosing a memory foam mattress was easier because there were so few brands and options. However, as the prices of memory foam mattresses have dropped, more brands have begun producing memory foam bedding, and choosing the right mattress has become more challenging. However, one factor remains constant throughout the different brands: memory foam density. Memory foam density, expressed in pounds per cubic foot, makes a big difference in the softness, durability, support, and price of your mattress. Knowing a little about the different densities of memory foam mattresses can simplify the buying process and help you find the memory foam mattress that's right for you.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
