The candles themselves are quite nice. They're vanilla scented but not too strong. The "blow out" feature is pretty cool. The display tray is attractive. The problem is that when all three candles are sitting next to each other the fake flickering is obviously artificial. When they're placed a few feet apart in individual holders you'd have to watch very closely to notice that they're fake. I'm keeping them but I'm using the candles in other holders and using real pillar candles in the tray.
I bought these as Birthday presents for my Mom and Daughters( and one for me). What a hit !They absolutely love them! The only "problems" are that in every set, there was one that didn't come on. I had them clean the batteries with an eraser and they worked fine, just a little dull. Also, there are not enough stones to fill the tray properly. No real problem there though, because we all want them filled a little differently. I bought large fish tank stones to finish mine. One Daughter filled hers with tiny shells from a vacation trip. The other filled hers with brightly colored glass chips. We talked about so many ways to change them. One idea is to buy candle rings according to the seasons.We will have lots of fun with these!
This was the hit of our family Christmas get-together! Everyone had fun with the "blowing" on and off. I would have expected to pay a lot more...
