Santa Barbara Sable Two-drawer Nightstand

These nightstands go very well with the bed. They are a little big though. The front lip of the nightstand is curved, which adds a nice accent to match the bed but you can't see it in the picture. However both the nightstands that I ordered arrived chipped in separate places. Since I live in the city it was quite a hassle to get them picked up for a return (which Overstock offered me) so I decided to live with it. But still doesn't lessen my disappointment as to the state in which they arrived.

I was excited to order this item and when finally the price came down and further discounts I did. It arrived damaged and exactly as previous reviews damaged corners. The box arrived in mint shape so the damaged happened before delivery. The corner was smashed and we needed to do some work. We were refunded money when we complained and pointed out that others have had this problem. Ok so we did. Two months later........The handle holder breaks. The underneath bar somehow broke and the pull keeps falling. How does this happen? We contacted Overstock again and they said they could do nothing for us........way to expensive for this. Buy another item.

I received my two nightstands in almost perfect condition. I was a little worried about the tops (because of other reviews) but they were well-protected. There were tiny chips on the back legs, but since they are against a wall, no one will be able to see them. The drawers slide out easily and the dimensions are approximately 25" wide x 19" deep x 24.5" high (NOT the 48 inches wide the websites says).

I was a little hesitant to order after reading the previous review, but after visiting a few local stores, it seems that almost every nightstand uses a composite wood such as particle board for the top and side panels. My delivery arrived in perfect condition just 2 days after I ordered. No assembly was required. The nightstands actually have solid wood posts and solid wood drawer boxes. Products I saw locally were typically constructed with veneer or plywood drawer boxes. One nice detail that doesn't really show in the picture is that the top panel bows outward away from the wall, giving the nightstand a nice, soft shape. I absolutely love the full extension drawers. It makes the product so much easier to use than the wood or roller glide systems I saw elsewhere. I loaded the bottom drawer with hardcover books and it didn't buckle at all. Very strong. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. Now I want to see about ordering the matching dresser. Thank you Overstock!!!
