New dishware for us!!
Being empty nesters now, it was time for some grown up dishes. The price on this set was excellent and the product is nice and heavy. Dinner dishes are LARGE and the bowls are an excellent size for soups and stews. Also ordered the ice cream bowls to round out the set. The color was a bit of an issue. Being a person who loves purple, I thought wow eggplant. It is not purple but blue. A nice blue, but blue.
- Did the color match the color displayed onsite? No the color is ALOT more blue than what I consider to be eggplant.
- How is the quality of the product? The quality is excellent.

Only lasts a few years
We got a couple sets of these plates about 3.5 years ago. The large plates are huge, which we liked in the beginning but have realized that the large plates make it harder to judge our portion sizes. The coffee cups are now severely stained, a couple bowls are chipped, some of the bowls are also stained, and the plates are also showing wear. This makes some of the dishes look dirty all the time. We also have had some of the small plates break. One broke when dropped from a side table, which is understandable. The second broke spontaneously... While microwaving with the plate I heard a "ticking" noise; the next day when we pulled the plate out of the dishwasher the side just snapped off in my husband's hand. After that we have been paying close attention to the plates, and noticed another small plate had a crack running halfway through it. So these are great if you want reasonably price plates and intend to buy a new set every few years. If you want something that lasts, these are not for you.

Beautiful set
Lovely dinnerware set! I got 3 sets of 16 for the sake of entertainment. Comes well packaged and protected. Great quality, beautiful color. Definitely a lot more blue than in the picture but to me it was a pleasant surprise. It's more of an indigo and less of an eggplant that tends to be more purple. If you're looking for something more gray as displayed in the picture, this isn't it. All in all, totally happy and exited about my new set!

not the best
I bought these three years ago and got three sets to have enough for our family get togethers. They have come out of the dishwasher with chips, I have had them pop when used in microwave and your eating utensils leave scratches and wear marks. If you want long lasting dinner wear I'd give them a pass.

These dishes are beautiful!
These dishes are really very beautiful - earthy and yet classy. My only complaint about them is that the bowls don't stack/nest into each other so they take up a lot of cabinet space, which is a bummer for me because my kitchen is microscopic and we're short on cabinets. If space-saving isn't a top priority for you then I heartily recommend this set - it's really beautiful. Plus, one dinner plate arrived broken and I called Overstock right away - they promised to send me a replacement plate within the next 48 hours. Superb customer service!

Disappointed Wife on Christmas
We're sending them back because of the color inaccuracies and glazing flaws, not because of the quality of material.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Way off! They are the color of the Sango "concepts" eggplant (Blue)
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The dinnerware is very sturdy, but the glazing has a lot of very noticeable imperfections like fingerprints/smudges.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? The color was not accurate at all. This is not "eggplant" color at all.
