The spinner works well and easy to use. The free chopper however didn't chop anything.Read More
I absolutely love this salad spinner. The fact that it doesn't have a string was a highlight for me. The only issue I have is that bowl doesn't hold much letltuce, etc. But, other than that, this is a winner! I highly recommend this product.Read More
a bit smaller than my old one but works well and unlike my old salad spinner it doesn't have a cord to get stuck! the small chopper was a nice extra.Read More
my husband bought me a martha stewart spinner, this one is much betterRead More
I have not previously owned a salad spinner, so I cannot say how this one compares to others. It's good and spins out excess water well. It's a little more 'light-weight' than I had hoped, which is why I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars. When turning the handle you really have to hold it down in order not to spin it right off the countertop. You also have to be careful to place the lid just so, in order to get the spinner to work correctly. The mini chopper bonus is a nice addition, but I have not used it yet.Read More
Questions & Answers
How to Season a Wooden Salad Bowl
Wood salad bowls need to be seasoned to prevent drying and cracking. This is particularly important for serving bowls that are unfinished. If your bowl is properly cared for and cleaned, the seasoned flavor and fragrance of garlic and herbs will be preserved. Proper maintenance will result in a well-seasoned serving bowl, which will become more aromatic with age.
How to Choose a Wood Lathe
Wood lathes are simple machines that allow you to make beautifully symmetrical woodwork. Wood lathes consist of an electric motor, two points, called the "headstock" and the "tailstock," and a chisel or gouge. As the motor turns the piece of wood secured between the headstock and the tailstock, the chisel carves. With a wood lathe in your collection of power tools, you'll be able to make a wide variety of items, including wooden pens, table legs, banisters and even wooden salad bowls. Although lathes are fairly simplistic tools, finding the right lathe for you can take some time and research.

How to Tell If Something Is Microwave Safe
Many bowls and plates are considered microwave safe; however, if you use the wrong dish, you could ruin both the dinnerware and the dinner. Microwaves are convenient appliances, but there are a few precautions you should know about when it comes to your dishes. Always check to see if a dish is microwave safe before using it in the microwave. Some containers can break, melt or scald you. Some containers can also damage your microwave, such as foil-lined containers. Microwave-safe dishes can be used to both cook and store food. Non-microwave safe containers can only be used for storage or serving.
How to Care for Wooden Spoons
Wood has long been used for eating utensils, serving utensils and preparation tools. Wooden spoons are a cooking essential and also a beautiful addition to your kitchen and dining experience. On the practical side, these lightweight yet strong utensils are great for tossing salads and serving everything from mashed potatoes to green beans. Wooden spoons are also the perfect preparation tools for use with nonstick pans. Cleaning and general care of wooden spoons differs, however, from the cleaning and care of metal utensils. Wood expands in water, so soaking the spoons in dishwater is generally not advised. Aside from a few basic rules of care, however, it is not difficult to keep wooden spoons looking like new.
