This chair is really pretty, however, I was not too excited about the way it was packaged, I had to tear off the bottom to get to the legs and hardware, and the hardware was not packaged in a separate bag, so it was loose everywhere, it took time to dig out all the washers in the creases. After that assembly was pretty easy, and the chairs looked great... with the exception of the bottom of the chair, which I guess no one will ever see.
I don't see how anyone was able to screw the legs to these chairs. The stamped in metal piece that holds the screw to the legs would not say in, any of the chairs. Not only that, one chair had zero screws with it, the other had only six of the eight. Thank you to Overstock for handling the return effortlessly.
The chair is pretty and stylish a little larger then expected, color is a nice linen color , assembly was easy but I had some stuff missing but it was easy to find in a local hardwood store, the quality is avareage but not bad. The fabric seems a little cheap, but I like how firm they are. Overall I think they are a good buy.
The chairs appear to look good, however if you look around the edges you will notice that the fabric was cut very close and the staples are not all on the underside of the chair. This however, is not the big issue. The big issue is that the legs do not tighten and therefore the chairs wobble. Overstock sent me a second set of legs (they were a different shade of brown from the first) and there was still at least one leg on each chair that would not lock into place. As a result, these chairs will now be sent back.
I am absolutely in LOVE with these chairs! There are much more sturdy than I thought they would be. I had a fear when ordering that "larger" people might not fit comfortably in the chairs; but, they are VERY substantial. My ONLY gripe is one that has been repeated by several purchasers as well....the directions are not very clear as to which corner the chair legs go: 2 legs are straight and 2 legs are curved . The curved legs go in the back but I had to do a little trial and error in figuring out which was right and which was left. Only 1 of the 4 chairs I ordered had R and L stickers as a guide....and go figure that was the LAST chair I put together!! The color is a taupe-ish-grey vs being a true taupe color as the website pictures show. But, that actually turns out to be a good thing as the chair will work with beige/taupe walls or if you have a grey motif. These are perfect for dining chairs or if you desire armless side chairs in a living room or family room. They are so comfortable that I would even use one as a desk chair if I had a need for one. To sum up....other than the unclear directions, I give these chairs a 5-Star Rating!!!!!
The chairs arrived quickly and were easy to assemble. Very stylish and comfortable. The color in the photo is a bit deceiving. I was expecting them to be a cream color, but the color is definitely a darker taupe. Still nice looking and worked for our room, but may be a problem for others.
I was really excited to get these chairs. they arrived in a VERY LARGE box which was sitting outside of the door. I immediately drug the box inside and attempted to assemble the chairs. the actual chair itself is a sleek design and it looked really pretty. i had to unzip a "pouch" at the bottom of the chairs which house the legs and the hardware. the legs had a few scratches on them, but nothing too horrible. the problem was that the chairs were not labeled correctly and my fiance and i spent two hours trying to assemble the legs to the chair. no matter the combinations that we tried, the legs would not fit. the screws and washers would go on tight, but the legs still wobbled and not a little, but a LOT. the space for the legs were too large and the hardware was flimsy, it broke off a few times and we had to hammer them back in. We eventually gave up and i called Overstock. the Customer Service rep was helpful. he told me i had two choices, i could keep the obviously non-functional chairs and receive a substantial discount or i could send the items back at which time he would immediately ship out new chairs. I chose shipment of new chairs with hopes that they will work out. they should be arriving today. i will post the results of these chairs to let you know if they are worth buying. it's a lot of money to waste.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Much darker in person, but i like the dark color better.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. very poor quality
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? not very accurate
These chairs are just ok, not excited about them, but not bad enough to send back. The color is much darker than in the picture. More like tan then beige. All the legs had scratches or dents which was frustrating. On some of the legs you could see that someone had already used a black marker to color them in. But my biggest complaint is how they came packaged. The main part of the chair is inside a bag and the legs were zippered inside the bottom of the chair...but all the hardware (screws and washers) were supposed to be in Ziploc bags. The bags were not closed and all the screws and washers were actually loose INSIDE the chair! It took me 30 minutes to shake the chairs to try and get them all to fall out and one screw was so stuck I had to patiently try and get the screw to fall close enough to the leg hole and then use pliers to extract it. And to make matters worse, washers were missing so I have to go buy some to put these chairs together. I know this is not Overstock's fault as you can tell the box came directly from Safavieh. Other than that, the chairs look good with my new dining room table.
