This rug was all I expected...beautiful colors (a bit softer than my moniter showed) and plush thickness. The downside is that it does have an odor to it (chemical or mustiness, I am not sure). I am airing it on the porch and will put it inside soon. I am not sure if it will shed or wear well, but it appears well made and with 2 cats in the house I am sure it will shed some. For the price it beats anything I could find in the nearby stores! Great work Overstock!!
I was extremely happy when this rug arrived, it looks even better in person than i had expected. The colors are just a little lighter than they appear, which actually worked in my favor. One problem is that it seems to shed a bit, especially around the sides. But I've had this happen before with other rugs and it has always stopped over time. The style and colors are gorgeous. Overall the rug looks and feels far more expensive than what we paid for it on overstock. I would highly recommend it!
This is by no means a fine Oriental rug but is an excellent area rug: visually attractive and durable. It's a very short plush pile (not unlike carpeting) but has a very tightly woven, sturdy back with strong binding so there is no worry about color leaching through to the floor below, as has happened to me before. Overstock is correct this rug would cost several hundred dollars at a retail/department store. There are some "specks" where a single strand of wool is strategically longer to give it a very slightly irregular and realistic appearance (think raw silk, etc.) Colors are similar to what appeared on my computer monitor: background is primarily grayish-tan and red has more of an orange than burgundy cast. If you plan to place small furniture on this rug (i.e. side table) consider how you will balance out leg(s) not on rug as it is thick. Appears to have potential to wear well under heavy traffic. Prompt shipping, only takes a few days to relax from being so tightly rolled up during transit. Very happy to have this in home office. One nitpick: as an artist, I would bump up the intensity of the greens for greater contrast against the background, but it still shows beautifully from a distance.
