I read the review that indicated the color was not the same as the picture displayed online, and still decided a litle lighter wouldn't be a large problem. I should have listened to that reviewer. This rug is the lightest of pale pastel baby mint greens, more of a white with a slight mint tint. It is so plush, very thick, heavy and gorgeous in quality, but I have suggested to Overstock that they use a different photo online because the one they have in no way reveals how very light in color it truly is. When looking at Overstock's photo and seeing that lighter spot on the right side that I had attributed to a flash and poor photography, the true color of the rug is that lightest color. It was honestly shocking to walk into the room and have this large bright area of the floor overwhelm you. I would have loved it and kept it had the color been true to the photo shown. I tried to make it work in my house because of the plush quality, but I ended up returning it within a week.
The rug is a different green than displayed on the site. When I first removed the wrapping and looked at the corner I almost stopped there and sent it back. The green is a pale mint (think Crest toothpaste) however once the rug was completely rolled open it looked very nice and much more subtle. The rug is being used in a bedroom with modern, asian type minimul furniture and it coordinates quite beautifully. I love the accents lines that run at the top and bottom, just enough detail to make it interesting. Haven't had too much trouble with shedding but do find the rug not very cat friendly. Only had the rug a couple of weeks so can't comment on durability.
