We wanted a rug to coordinate with the two tone green walls and rich wood in our dining room that we were converting into a lounge/playroom for our growing family. This rug had the right balance of mature colors and fun bold circles. I like the rug better at night under the slightly yellow tungsten (normal light bulb) light. During the day the colors are slightly paler and colder than in the picture. About the colors: the picture is very close - the red is pure red, the black is true black, the blue/gray is more gray than blue and that surprised me, the yellow in the circle is more of pale cream, so that overall the rug is slightly less warm than the picture, but not much. This rug lies open and uncluttered in the middle of the room, so the bold design becomes the focal point of the room and invites adults and children alike to spread out on the floor, which is what we wanted. My wife is still concerned that it might be too busy. There's a chance we might send it back and go with a light yellow rug, but not because there's anything wrong with this rug. The fibers are relatively fine (small diameter) and soft, trimmed (a slight bevel) in between the colors, and the pile is dense, the cotton backing is supple and relaxes quickly to spread out flat. Overall it is a very high quality rug with rich natural colors. The design reminds me of the design patterns found in Klimt paintings, which I love. I would recommend this rug to people who share my sense of style.
