I saw this rug on a much more expensive site and was excited to find it here. The other site (ballarddesigns.com) had a much more accurate presentation of the color. Here it looks very yellow, when it is actually a golden color. I actually would prefer a bit more contrast between the gold and the tan, but that's ok. The rug was much thicker and expensive looking than I had expected. Overall, a great rug for a great price. Looks great in my dining room.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? not yellow like the photo, a subtle gold
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. high quality, thick, plush
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? good
Rug had very strong moldy smell when it arrived and had pulls in the rug. The smell did dissipate over a few days but never completely went away. Have ordered several other Safavieh rugs and never had a problem. This one seemed used because of the pulls. Will be returning it because of the smell & quality. Overstock did charge $** to return. Not happy about that since it is an inferior product. I was pleased with the color it looked just like the picture. It is also thicker than the other rugs that I have of the same brand. Also didn't realize that the pattern you see is a raised pattern on the rug.
The rug appears to be well made and is a great value for the money, but the color is very different than how it appears in the photos. The photos depict a bright, sunny gold, but in reality it is more of a deeper, darker shade of gold. The background color is also a deeper tan than I was expecting. There is some shedding which is not unusual for a wool rug, especially when brand new. I have found with other rugs that the shedding diminishes as the rug gets vacuumed and worn in. So hopefully that is the case here also.
