I had ordered the smaller version of this rug before ordering the 8 x 11' rug. I liked the larger version a little better probably b/c it shows more of the neutrals in it. This is a great quality Safevieh rug AN516B. I also found this rug in a smaller size on Ballard Designs Triana Rug but it is a lot cheaper at Overstock. It you tend to lean towards reds, yellows, greens, for decorating this will go in your room. It leans more towards the warmer side than the cooler taupe side. I wouldn't say it is red but more rust colored. But the carpet works with red. I have red in my room and it picks up the coloration. Great rug for our family room with kids and dogs. Great price for *** or so.Read More
I give this product five stars because the carpet is thick and well made. However, the hues are more saturated than what is shown online. The colors also vary from the description, "ivory background and ivory border and displays stunning panel colors of red, rust, gold, sage, ivory." There is no red in the carpet. The ruddy color is burnt orange/rust. I read "ivory" to mean a neutral off-white. Instead, the background is light gold. The outer edges are a medium khaki color. If your colors are burnt orange/rust, sage green and varying hues of gold, this rug will work with your decor.Read More
The rug is very heavy and of good quality. It's a Safavieh. Now about the color - it's taupe; the colors are very muted. Ivory is nowhere near what it is. If you want a taupe rug that looks like it's been washed in gray, this is your rug. The red color is a burgundy. The reviews said it was rusty and orangy. No. I'm bummed but married to it since the price to return it is too much. I was really relying on the accurate description of those who bought before me.Read More
Let’s get this out of the way: this rug is not “Ivory”. There is not any “ivory” in the one that arrived (very quickly) to my home. The base color is perhaps better described as a marriage between olive and khaki. With a dash of café au lait. The image on the site is FAR lighter (and as a designer, my screen is very accurately color calibrated). That said, the palette is a neutral one with nuanced olive/green, rust/copper, and yellow/gold tones and this misleading description is not egregious given my personal color scheme. I really like this carpet, and although I was expecting epic “shedding” as new wool carpets are wont to do, this has been minimal. I have it down on hardwood floors with no pad; it is absolutely fine without one. It has a nice weight, seems well made (only time will tell…), and it feels lovely under bare feet. I checked elsewhere and the Ostock price cannot be beat, shipping was lightning fast, and without a doubt I will purchase more from the site while being mindful that descriptions may not be completely accurate. I would give this 5 stars if it were indeed Ivory. That said, I'm quite satisfied with my first purchase from Overstock.com.Read More
This is a really beautiful rug. It arrived within the week. it was folded rather than rolled, but the folds came out the first day. The colors are not quite as vivid as the picture but it worked exceptionally well in the dining room of our Victorian home. It truly anchors the room. Our walls are dark taupe and it blends beautifully with our wine accents and light taupe ceiling. Our furniture mix is antique, mid-century and Asian and this rug really adds to the overall ambiance. It's very thick, very heavy and appears far more expensive than its actual cost. Other reviews have complained about pilling but we have not noticed this at all. I ordered some less expensive rugs at the same time for other areas of the house, but after seeing this one determined this is the quality level I choose so I sent the others back.(The return policy was quick, fair and very well managed. You can tell that retaining happy customers are corporate policy.) We've ordered numerous rugs of this quality in the past from Overstock for other rooms and all have met and/or exceeded. Bottom line, I would not hesitate (and in fact will) order other rugs of this quality again. If you are pondering this rug, you will be quite happy!Read More
I love the rug. The colors are beautiful. (It is more of a gray and ivory). It looks wonderful in my livingroom.Read More
This rug exceeded my expectations! The colors are exactly as described and match my decor perfectly. The price cannot be beat and it arrived a day early! The pile is very plush. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants the luxury of an oriental wool rug without the high cost.Read More
Purchased this rug for our historical home!! Beautiful colors! Looks great in the space, colors are more golden. But work well. Has that " aged antique" feeling I was going for. The thickness is soft no pad really needed. I would purchase a safavieh rug from overstock any day! The price is right, the quality is spot on! Very happy girl!Read More
This rug is lovely and compliments the decor of the room in which it has been placed. My only complaint is that although I have vacuumed this rug several times since my receipt of same, it still sheds a lot. Great value for the price.Read More
This rug is lovely , very minimal shedding in comparison to other wool rugs I've had. I would buy again. Pretty neutral colorsRead More

Best Kid-friendly Fabric for Sofas
Finding the right sofa and loveseats that match your room, have the right look and meet your budget can be like searching for a needle in a haystack. If kid-friendly fabrics are on your must-have list, start by looking below. This article will help you find the best kid-friendly fabrics for sofas, which should repel stains and hold up to added abuse from children jumping, scooting and forgetting to remove their shoes before hopping on the sofa. Microfiber: Microfiber is stain-resistant and comes in different textures. Some microfiber weaves are smooth, like suede, and others are denser, similar to corduroy. You may clean most microfiber with water, but check the manufacturer's tag because a few types of microfiber may require cleaning with a compatible solvent. Wool: For sofas, wool and wool blends are great because of their durability. They're less prone to pilling, snagging and wrinkling than other fabrics. Plus, wool is easy to spot-clean. Vacuum this natural fabric with a hand-held vacuum attachment to remove dust. Leather: Leather is a versatile sofa fabric; it can be elegant or totally casual. Its slick surface makes cleanups relatively easy. Beware if you have pets, as little claws can leave scratch marks. Scuff-repair solutions are available, and they can keep your kids' sofa looking good for years. In addition, a quick treatment with leather conditioner once or twice a year will keep the sofa soft and supple. Vinyl: Vinyl is just as versatile as leather and often has the same smart look, but at a much more affordable price. It's easy to clean, too: just spray it with water and wipe spills away. Vinyl isn't as snuggly as microfiber, but in a playroom, it will hold up to lots of abuse. Denim: Just because a sofa is upholstered in denim doesn't mean it'll look like your worn-out jeans. Just like a comfy pair of jeans, denim is sturdy and goes with everything. In addition, denim sofas are available in a rainbow of colors to match your kids' bedrooms or playroom. Best Leather Handbag Styles
Leather handbags are always in fashion. Whether you carry a large tote or a smaller hobo-style leather purse, your handbag is sure to be a durable, timeless addition to your outfit. Go casual or dressy, and there will be a leather bag that coordinates. Available in smooth dyed cowhide or a variety of animal prints and textures, the top leather handbag styles include the hobo, satchel, tote, shoulder bag and clutch. Hobo. One of the most common bags, the hobo handbag is a great day-to-day option. The top layer of many leather hobo handbags> is made from top-grain leather, since it can be dyed in any color imaginable. The hobo handbag comes in many different sizes, but it is never considered bulky or oversized. A leather hobo handbag can easily accommodate a wallet, cell phone and other personal items with room to spare. Satchel. Top-grain and full-grain leather are commonly used to make satchel handbags. Made for women on the go, the durable leather satchel handbag offers a chest-crossing strap. Satchel handbags leave your hands free to open doors, maneuver strollers or carry shopping bags. Look for a leather satchel handbag with compartments and pockets for convenience. Tote. This oversized handbag option is popular with women who need to carry heavier loads to work or around town. The leather tote has a large capacity that allows you to carry paperwork, a laptop or lunch. Also used by modern mothers, a large leather tote can easily double as a purse-diaper bag combo. Best Ways to Use Paper Shredders
If you're concerned about protecting your personal information and sensitive documents, a paper shredder is an important tool for properly destroying documents. Paper shredders are made with multiple security features. Some shredders cut items into long strips, while cross-cut paper shredders go even further and shred documents into small diamond-shaped pieces. Here are some of the best ways to use a paper shredder to protect your identity and sensitive information. Shred paper documents. Shredding documents containing personal identification reduces the chance of someone obtaining personal information such as your social security number, address, birth date and phone number. Medium-sensitivity documents containing addresses and phone numbers can safely be disposed of with a normal cross-cut or thin strip paper shredder. For more private information and confidential documents, shredders that are medium or high security are the safest selection. These high-end paper shredders cut paper into even smaller pieces. Dispose of media. Some paper shredders are durable enough to destroy CDs and DVDs. As modern life becomes increasingly digital, more and more sensitive information is stored electronically. To protect this data, the right paper shredders reduce CDs and DVDs into jagged shards of plastic, making it impossible for anyone to retrieve sensitive data. Light-duty paper shredders won't shred plastic, but shredders that are medium to heavy duty are capable of shredding CDs and DVDs as well as paper. Destroy old credit cards. Simply breaking an old credit card in half or cutting it up by hand isn't really a safe way to dispose of these easily compromised items. To be sure your credit information is safe, run old or non-used cards through a medium to heavy-duty paper shredder. View All Paper Shredders Back to Guides Directory View All Paper Shredders
