I read the reviews for the larger sizes of this rug and noticed that a number of people described theirs as having purple or lavender accents. I see no purple in my rug. I spoke to a representative regarding the dyes in these wool rugs and apparently there is a fair amount of variance, particularly among different sizes. I guess that's why some reviewers are pleasantly surprised when two rugs match. The rug I received I'd describe as predominantly a medium not-too-greyed sage with deep burgundy and golden brown accents and a medium toned muted ivory border. The colors are very livable and the pattern is nice and clear. I know what a gamble it is to buy a rug on line so I hope this description helps.

While the rugs we purchased were terrific, the two small rugs both have musty smells that we are trying to get out. We ordered the first rug and it came with that familiar musty smell. The cost was so low that we ordered a second copy of the rug and it also came with a musty smell. None of the other two rugs were musty. It was only the 2' 3" X 4' rugs that came this way. I am assuming that we will eventually get the smell out. I will use again in a heart beat knowing that we may have to fix the smell of the rugs we get. If this is an issue, then it may not be worth the risk for you.
