Don't even try to guess the color from the picture. The rug is gorgeous but the field color is a deep smokey teal color. You might call it dark gray with a teal cast to it. The border is tans and a fiery orange. Great color combo! The rug has several shades of brown--a rich, milk chocolate, a milky hot chocolate, and a tan. A bit of pine green here and there along with small accents of army green and olive green. A few outlines of cranberry and also of black appear throughout the rug, although neither of these colors is pronounced. The rug does have some gold in it, but not enough to call it a main color. The teal and the several shades of brown dominate the rug. It is lovely, soothing backdrop to the room.

The quality of the construction is very good I expect it will last many years. What is disappointing, the picture shows a lot more fine detail with much less background color. The photo, I presume, represents a much smaller rug where the pattern is contained within. What i got was a large rug where the pattern was enlarged or stretched. So what looks like a predominantly gold orange carpet with some background teal becomes a predominantly background teal color with large flower patterns not the fine details. It looks mostly orange beige gold in the photo, you will find it is mostly teal if you order this size rug. This is the second rug I have purchased through overstock.com. The first one I returned because of very inaccurate colors. This one is to big to return and works ok but I would not have purchased it. If you care about details in your home decor, you are taking chances by ordering these area rugs. The value is good but the pictures are not representative.
