Why did you choose this product?
This is a good choice for a casual home with a lot of foot traffic. It resides in my kitchen over an older pine floor and because of its mottled, heavy weave it doesn't readily show dirt. It's heavy and large enough that it doesn't require a non-slide mat. Because it doesn't have a fabric border it is also a good choice for a mudroom. It does shed underneath so the floor needs to be vacuumed occasionally....
ITEM#: 13303816Ideal for indoor or outdoor use, this fine sisal design area rug features an attractive wheaten beige color made from jute. Hand-woven using traditional methods, this natural rug is just one-quarter of an inch thick. Use a rug pad underneath to prevent accidents. This generously sized area rug works well when placed in the center of your wood-or laminate-floored living room to bridge space between furniture and provides a comfortable surface to rest your feet. This attractive rug is especially appealing over marbled hallway or entryway floors, and the piece makes a great spot for guests to step in and remove shoes.

I have had this rug in my house for less than a month. It is in a low traffic area of our home, and it is already falling apart in several places. We do not have pets that are a contributing factor- it's simply poorly made and a total waste of money. We bought the 6x9 rug as well for a different area of our home and it has held up somewhat better, but it still has areas that are pulling apart even though there has been virtually no traffic on that one either.Read More

This rug was exactly what I was looking for for my sunroom. The color is perfect and well represented in the picture. The thicker knotting is a less tempting scratching pad for my cat than other natural weave rugs. It did have a smell right out of the plastic, but that dissipated quickly. It is a looser weave, as one other reviewer mentioned, and I agree that a vacuum's carpet brush could cause the rug to fray... but that didn't deter me from purchasing a second rug in a larger size for my family room! It's an excellent natural fiber rug for the price.Read More
We ordered this rug for our foyer as well as our kitchen entry and are very happy with it. The quality for the price is unmatchable. We had a party and received many compliments on it and our friends are now purchasing the same one. The one thing we did notice was when we moved it after a week there was some dusty/dirt residue under it which we just wiped up, but would expect that with the natural fibers and am sure it will stop dropping residue after we use it a bit longer. Overall, LOVE this rug!Read More
First, this rug is about an inch THICK and soft. I find it doesn't need a mat (though I bought one). I wanted exactly a rug like this and bought what I thought was the closest fit. So I was very pleasantly surprised. It is perfect for high traffic areas like my little kitchen. I wanted softness, easy to haul & hose outside, and something to filter litter box strays and other small dirt. Once a week, I vacuum it, then roll it and vacuum the floor beneath. It is working GREAT, FEELS great on my bare feet, and LOOKS so much cleaner and nicer than the linoleum beneath it. So, maybe I got lucky, but the quality is very good and I just bought another one for a small sun room. I'm happy! :)Read More
I wasn't quite sure what to expect after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures (they didn't quite jive with one another). The rug arrived quickly and was packaged well. My initial reaction was that I love this rug. The color is richer than the pictures--it is warm and golden, not taupe as the pictures depict. It is also softer than expected. I did notice that people complained of the thickness of the rug but I wouldn't say it was any thicker than I would have hoped for. Actually, the chunkiness is one of the positive attributes of it. If it was thinner, it would resemble an outdoor rug which tend to look cheap when used indoors. My only complaint is that the pattern consists of rows of knots which some are frayed at the end. My initial thought was to call member service to have it replaced but I don't want to bother with repackaging and sending it back. I think I will end up using super glue or a lighter to get rid of the frays. My only other thought was that an animal could probably snag this pretty easily.Read More
I like the rug a lot and it is a good value for the price. Some notes, though: - Do not use a beater brush vacuum on this rug as it will pull up the knotting on the rug. Be very careful when vacuuming it - If you spill something on it, try to clean it with gentle soap and water. Do not use spray-on carport cleaners as it will take the color out of the rug. The dyes in this rug are not colorfast.Read More
This rug looks great. It is a little more knobbly than I expected and more so than another jute rug I have but the chunky texture looks and feels great. I've had to pull a couple of loops back through the other side but so far it's holding up well.Read More
