The inside package (not the outer shipping package) was damaged - it looked like it had been dragged in gravel which damaged the rug. This should have been noticed by the originating packer. But from the little I saw of the rug (since I didn't open the full inner package), it looked nice.
The rug has a weaving flaw in it (which I fixed with a little hand sewing). It is very large and it is difficult to keep it square and straight. The pattern is great because it is a lot more interesting than a flat or "heathered" rug without having a busy, distracting pattern which calls to much attention to itself or demands perfect symmetry. It is not comfortable to lie on.
Has the wonderful look of a sisal, but with softness! Texture is beautiful - everyone that comes over comments on the rug and wants to know where I got it from. Only minor downfall - a little shedding - but it has dissipated after a few months.
This rug was a significant disappointment. It arrived on time and was absolutely beautiful in appearance. However, it smelled extremely musty. We purchased it to put in a newly renovated basement, but the odor permeated the main room and made it unpleasant to sit in. I am not sure if the odor came from the rug processing or is part of the natural smell of the jute/hemp used to make the rug. Either way, the rug is on its way out of the basement (after 2 weeks of hoping it would air out) and we had to purchase a replacement rug. Given the expense of shipping a rug back to Overstock and the limited return window, I will not purchase another rug from this website.
