Bought the refurbished machine after reading other reviews hoping that I would luck out with a good one. But, not this time. Immediately tried to set it up, but the lids to the water and coffee bean tanks were so warped and bend that they would not stay on the tanks (let alone close properly). And, the water filter was missing. Additionally, the dredge drawer was giving false readings...so, I just shipped mine back today to return. I guess it's all about luck with buying refurbished items. It just wasn't mine!

After contemplating on purchasing this coffe maker for a long time, I finally did. I was first introduced to this product in Europe and was immediately drawn to the quality and appearance of this machine. My husband and I are coffee gourmets and absolutely love this product. It performs as stated, is easy to operate, to include set-up. Maintenance is a breeze and you wind up with the perfect cup of coffee any time. I do recommend purchasing a maintenance agreement with this machine, since the grinder can wear out, especially if you use oily coffee beans. A total win/win situation. We are very pleased with our purchase.

After experiencing a cup of coffee from this machine at my brother in law's home, I was hooked immediately. I have never tasted a smoother cup of coffee, and the layer of creme topped it off perfectly. Not to sound boorish, but being from Seattle, the Capital of Coffee, I am experienced. I knew I had to have one. I must say that when I received it, I was unneasy to find that it had been refurbished, and that it was only garaunteed for only 6 months. Hopfully, no problems. My brother said that they had had grinder problems also, but were told by the serviceman that the reason was oily beans. Since they changed to a less oily bean, they have had no problems. So to any new owners of this wonderful coffee maker, avoid oily beans.

We bought this as a replacement for our longtime trusted Magic DeLuxe that finally gave out after years of service. These machines are called "The Machine Of Happiness" among the group of friends we keep who own them. If you're an inveterate coffee drinker as are my wife and I, you really can't live without one of these in your kitchen/pantry. The Magic line from Saeco is truly the benchmark for home use "SuperAutomatic" coffee machines. This is our second Magic DeLuxe, and we have a Magic Comfort Plus at our summer home. It would take much too long to extol the virtues of the Saeco Magic series of coffee makers here, but if you check around the web, you'll find that there are 1000s of satisfied owners who absolutely love their machines. (We take our original Magic Deluxe on vacations with us.) Some of the highlights are 15-bar (220psi) extraction, water delivered at 195-197F to minimize extraction of harsh compounds, adjustable grind (true burr grinder), adjustable dosing, power saver/instant on setting, and on and on. If you're looking for "the" coffee maker to have, this is the one.

We've had this item for a few years now. We bought it refurbished from Overstock. It makes a great latte, capuccino, mocha and hot chocolate and has saved us a small fortune in buying coffee from the coffee specialty stores. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that we can not use the ground coffee feature because it stopped working about a year after we bought this item. It wasn't a feature we used a lot anyway .... We generally buy our favorite espresso beans **** and just pour the beans into the container and the machine grinds the beans each time we make our drink. The Magic Deluxe makes a great cup of java.

Expensive by US standards for a coffee maker, but a great deal for someone who enjoys european coffee, expresso, and caps. Has good adjustments to taylor the brewing to your tastes, The refurbished unit was like brand new

We own two of these machines. Once you have had coffee made by these machines, you will never have traditional brewed coffee again. It is so nice to make a fresh cup at will. No burnt flavors. No oxidation. Cannot comment on durability yet. Machine is very sophisicated and well made however. A bit expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.

Works great - the coffee tastes excellent! Using less coffee since it is per cup when it is made.

We loved this product so much that we thought we would try a refurbished one. It did not work and we had problems with the grinder. Overstock was great about letting us return it.

If you love your lattes and cappucinos, you'll love this! This is a great product at a good price. The purchasing process was extremely easy. I asked questions through the live chat and had them all answered within minutes. Not to mention the representative ordered the machine for me and suggested a two year warranty that was very reasonable.
