awesome little dutch oven
So this is a small dutch oven I bought for making slow cooked meals. Great choice and it won't disappoint. It was shipped super fast too :)

Very disappointed
After one use the bottom enamel chipped off. This is not worth the money paid and I would not recommend it to anyone. We really wanted the size of the dutch oven but the quality of the product is extremely disappointing.

Low quality knock-off made in China
Overstock answered my question about this product stating it is made in France, but it is made in China. The name "Sabatier" came into use before intellectual property laws and is not protected so the only way to tell if a product of this name is from one of the original high quality cutlery companies is to find out if it is made in the Thiers region of France. I should have known from the price that it could not be, but I dreamed. I will likely donate this pot to a local charity and try to forget this ever happened.

Great dutch oven
Perfect dutch oven for one pot meals. Got a gift certificate for my birthday and with reward dollars, it didn't cost a cent. Thank you, reward dollars. This is a good priced dutch oven that has a metal knob so it can go into 450-500 degrees oven. Many have a resin type knob that won't go over 400. I had a cookbook that featured "infusion cooking" at 450 where you layer the carbs on the bottom, then veggies, then meat. Pop some liquid in and 45-60 minutes later, there's a complete meal. I needed a good heavy dutch oven for that could withstand the high temp. This one does it beautifully. And with the porcelain coating, it is a breeze to clean up. Just soak it for a bit with hot water and some liquid detergent. You won't need to put it in the dishwasher, though you can. Still, these kind of pots do better without the dishwasher. Love it!
