    • Looks nice, but fake texture on bamboo.

It looks like on top of it decal with bamboo texture.

I never write reviews, but these blinds are PERFECT. Just as pictured, solid, easy to hang, easy to raise and lower, exactly what I was looking for and nicer than I expected. Can't thank you enough, Overstock!

    • Maybe not the best choice for an atrium door

I have had a pair of these mounted on my atrium door that is center hinged for six weeks. While I keep them raised most of the time, I lower them for 5 or 6 hours in the late afternoon/evening. This is the door where I let the dog in and out so it is getting used a few times when the shade is down. Lately I have noticed that I'm probably going to have to figure out the easiest way to shorten them. They were originally hung with 1.5" at the top and 2" at the bottom of the door. With the threshold the lower margin if you will was 3" or so. It's not dragging on the floor YET nor have i taken to leaving the opening door partly raised to match the stationary side mostly because viewing the stationary side is somewhat obstructed by furniture. Probably no one else would notice it and truthfully I only think about it for the 1/2 a minute I'm putting them down. The other issue is that I can only open the door to 90 degrees because the headrail hits the headrail on the other door. With the way my furniture is arranged I never opened the door so it was swung back all the way against the other door but I think I could have if I had wanted to. I certainly used to leave the door open to 135 degrees and now with the restricted opening, the open door seems somewhat in the way. Hopefully I'll get used to it once the A/C weather ends and I leave it open more often. The good news is I like the way they look and I didn't have any trouble with the two blinds not matching each other in shading as other reviewers mentioned. Having had this type of blind when they were in the last time around, I wasn't expecting them to block the light or provide full privacy at night. Some complained about the lack of directions; well they're in the package now and as I recall, easy enough to follow. The cord cleat is really cheap metal with a chrome finish; good thing I leave the blinds up so the cords pretty much cover them up. When I first installed them I had a door knob on this door and when I needed to change my locks, I put in levers - they kind of get in the way when I'm lowering the shades but all I need to do is push the blind over and then after bulk has past the door handle the shade tucks in behind the lever easily and doesn't make any difference in using the door lever. In the final analysis, I don't know that there are any window coverings that work well and look good on patio or atrium doors. Well, maybe the blinds that are sandwiched in between the double panes of glass, and these shades are a whole bunch less expensive than installing new doors. The price point on the shades may be even more attractive than the blinds themselves.

    • Worth the Hassle

This was a bit of a pain to hang, and you kind of have to use your handyman smarts to hang it, but it looks awesome. I love the colors in the bamboo. It does not block out light and isn't meant to, but I can easily add some block-out fabric to the back myself with a needle and thread. I was looking at purchasing a similar item, custom made with the block-out fabric for ***-hundred dollars. This cost me $$, so yeah, huge difference, same look. Oh, and a bit of the metal headers show on the sides, but you can cover them with the bamboo strips they give (to use if you keep it rolled up, I believe), or just paint them the wall color. I feel I got a very good value for what I wanted.

    • These Roman Shades bring a refreshing ambiance

I have been wanting a fresh look for our family room for quite some time and these Roman Shades are the perfect answer. As for quality, although they are a less expensive shade than some but they are well made and DO NOT LOOK CHEAP. They are a true Roman Shade and not a rollup shade which adds to the look of quality . I was tired of the old heavy venetian blinds. The natural variations in colour are not only attractive but add an airy feel to the room. They are not a privacy shade and therefore I will be making curtain panels to use when privacy is needed as well as the middle of summer to block out light when heat is unbearable. They were a breeze to hang as well. I would recommend these to anyone looking to achieve a fresh new look in a tired old room. They were exactly as described and EXACTLY what I wanted .

    • Let in more light than the picture shows

I like this overall, but they let a lot more light in than the picture would lead you to believe. The three little sticks are not as tightly woven as it shows.

    • Bamboo is bamboo.

They are roman blinds - not roll up as the product page mentions twice. As bamboo blinds go, they are fine. I think you could probably get the same price at a chain store. Convenient to have them delivered so inexpensively.

Looks great. Slight greenish tint works in our room. Ordered 33" for 33" windows and hung them from the inside top of the window. Looks custom. Expensive. Very tight. 33" is the headrail measurement. No room for brackets on the side. If you want to side mount the brackets on the inside order smaller.

    • Love these shades

I love these shades. They add a lot of texture to a room and are perfect for plain windows. If you're looking for a blackout shade, these are not for you as they still allow light to come through. I like that you can still see through them but they give you needed privacy. We replaced our wood blinds with these and I couldn't be happier!

    • What depth is required for flush inside mount?

      • Hello Maggie, I hope your day is going well. You will need 2 inches for a flush fit. Thank you for shopping with us.

    • The depth of my window molding requires outside mount. Will these work?

      • Hello jess1078, Yes, you can mount these outside the window if desired. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.

    • Also, do you HAVE to put the 7" valance on AND is there any chance we can get them 78" long for our sliding patio doors?

      • Hi stevens1mom, the valance is attached upon arrival and the sizes of these shades are not customizable. Thanks for shopping with us.

      • The valance is attached except for the end pcs., which I personally did not need to use since my shade fit inside the window frame. I don't know if this is available at the length you need. However you can shorten this shade with some detail to attention, a hot glue gun, some clamps & watching several you tube videos for ideas and instructions.

    • how to these roll up and down and is the sting (if it's a pull system) included?

      • Hi stevens1mom, these shades flow up in a Roman style using string pull cords that are included. Thanks for shopping with us.

      • They are roman shades and the strings with ladders are attached and that is the system. I shortened mine to a custom fit with some thought and with watching some you tube videos on the subject. I used a hot glue gun and some clamps, I just recommend to measure several times and study the way the ladders and cords are attached to get the results you want.
