Rupert Chrome Steel Chair with Leatherette Seat Pad

This mesh chair is truly a work of art. It's a fun piece for in the kitchen, particularly if you've got a lot of chrome and silver accents like we have, and it's also a great corner piece to have in the lounge area, study, or on the balcony. The leather pad is really comfortable, and the backwards-stretching design is definitely a talking point. I've had so many people ask about where I got this chair, and they're always astonished at the price I paid for it. It really looks as though it came from some high street designer store!

The chair arrived much sooner than I expected, which was great! It only took me about 5 minutes to put it together with 4 screws, and the tools were included. If you have had experience with putting IKEA products together, this was a no-brainer. I had a cocktail party recently, and discovered that my minimalist space needed at least one more seat in addition to my sofa and single chair. I wanted something contemporary/modern, that wouldn't clutter the space. When I saw this chair, I knew it would work. I was nervous about the feel of the chair though, if it felt substantial enough (it does). The chair is perfect, and over the weekend, I have already gotten several compliments on it. I love looking at, because it really looks architectural, and very much like a structural, yet functional piece of art. I didn't use the seat cover, not because it isn't comfortable, but because it doesn't match my furnishings. I happen to like the chair without it better. I like the exposed screws, but I am a guy. It does take some adjusting the little rubber grips on the bottom to get it level, but once you do that, the chair is stable and doesn't move. It is comfortable for a steel chair (who would think a hard surface would be more comfortable/just as comfortable as an upholstered one anyway?)...I would definitely recommend this chair to friends, but I won't...lol...I don't want to see it in their spaces, at least not yet!

We think this chair is soooo cool. We smile every time we look at it. Our kids think it is a little strange. A neighbor of mine (when I was growing up in St. Louis) had a 'diamond' chair. As kids we all wanted to sit in it, thought it was fun. Until I entered design school, I did not realize what a 'gem' our neighbors really had! Thanks for the awesome chair, unbelivable value and great customer service!

Really cool looking chair - very different and unique which i love ..but not very comfortable to sit in and the pad is very cheap looking...
