We've had this carpet extractor for over 6 months now and have used it about 5 times. It's very user-friendly and durable. We just use white vinegar and hot water and it gets the carpet clean naturally. Our apartment has wall-to-wall beige carpeting, so it's wonderful to be able to pull out our cleaner whenever we want and do a little spot cleaning if an area gets dirty. It cleans a large portion of carpet without needing to refill the water, and it also gets the carpet dry enough so that it dries naturally with no problem, at least in California's drier climate. It's very easy to fill the parts which take the water and soap (we just use water in the soap compartment.) The soap dispenser has to be filled for the cleaning to take place/carpet to get wet. I think there might be some people who didn't figure out how to get the cleaning to work but you just need to make sure the soap dispenser has liquid in it and you have the correct switches on when you're cleaning with it. Trust me--I'm not a techie and am so glad this cleaner is simple to use! This is one of those purchases that I'm SO GLAD we made. Thanks Royal for an excellent quality product.

We have a german shepherd who "tends" to have muddy feet. lol No lets admit it, he tracks in everything on the kakhi colored carpet. I was really hoping this would be my solution. It works well, but it doesn't seem to clean some spots like I'd hoped. It is a great machine though. It runs quiet, it's easily to fill and clean up. I'm hoping as I get more experience with what the right "speed" is to clean, I'll have better luck with those stubborn spots.

I have looked for a "good" carpet cleaner and read all the reviews and was very excited about this find. But this machine performs poorly - I thought it might be user error so I've re-read the directions, but it's not. I did not pick up at the order time that you HAD to use their shampoo and by the time I ordered and received the shampoo it was close to the return expire date. Then the machine has poor suction - very disappointing.

This is a great carpet cleaner. Very easy to use and clean after use. The front extractor piece comes off which makes it so easy to get hair and fuzz out of. It has great suction so the carpet gets clean and dries quickly. I have had 3 other carpet cleaners, and this one is at the top for cleaning ability and ease of use. I don't know about durability since it has been used only 3 times so far

i HAVE USED MY NEW CLEANER TWO TIMES, THE FIRST TIME IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY, THE CARPETS DRY REALLY FAST. THE SECOND TIME IT LEAKED OUT THE SIDE AND WOULD NOT STOP, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I love this machine. It surpassed my expectations and cleaned area rugs and carpet. Especially the trouble spots from my pets and high traffic area. I was considering replacing my carpet in one room, but now it looks great. I highly recommend this product. It's easy to use and clean.

This did a great job and is very easy to use. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to clean on a regular basis. Don't forget to order soap for the machine. It is not included.

I recently purchased this item, because past reviews were helpful. I have 2 young children, 2 dogs, and a puppy. Needless to say, I needed a carpet cleaner on a regular basis. I mostly have area rugs a small office with carpet and a carpeted stairway. When I recieved the carpet cleaner, I used it on all of my areas. I was very surprised and excited. I thought it cleaned better than a commercial cleaner! I did however have to empty and fill the water bins and refill the soap dispenser many times. But overall, it did a terrific job. I probably won't clean all the rugs again at the same time as it took several hours. The carpet cleaner is made of durable plastic and I could easily carry it up the stairs. It is easy to work and I'm very pleased with the purchase!

this machine is great! a little hard to figure out the first time but the cleaning it does is fantastic. good bye to the steam cleaning by the professionals. just some white vinegar and water and my carpets look great. thanks overstock!

This machine is awesome. We have 3 dogs and a light carpet. All I used was vinegar with really hot water and the carpets came out perfect and odor free. And what a price, it cost as much as having my house professionally cleaned twice. By using really hot water, the carpets dried in no time. Any machine I used in the past always clogged up with dog hair or carpet lint. Not this one. This is just the best deal ever. My only regret is not finding it sooner.

I love this cleaner and I am a freak about my carpets. This machine gave me better results than a Rug Doctor or a professional cleaning. It was easy to use and the carpets dried fast. I would highly recommend this machine.

This product works as well as the ones you rent for $25/day. No more rentals! Works well on throw rugs too. And comes with an upholstery attachment. A must have if you have pets.

We got a new puppy for Christmas, and she is not housebroken yet. This carpet cleaner did an outstanding job of cleaning the spots on a light-colored carpet. It even did a better job than the professional carpet cleaning we had done several months ago. And the carpet dried quickly.

I bought this carpet cleaner after my bissell broke AGAIN. Having had a Bissell and a Hoover that both lasted about 2 years, I was looking for a carpet cleaner that would get my carpets spotless. I was a little nervous about buying this carpet cleaner due to the fact that I never had heard of the brand before, but after previous problems w/ the the other brands I gave it a shot. My carpet cleaner arrived on time, and much to my surprise easy to put together. I cleaned all the carpets in whole house and let them dry overnight. By morning they were all completely dry and looked vey clean. I would recommend this product. Great buy!

This was the first time I ever purchased from Overstock.com. The product I ordered was brand new as advertised and not a refurbished unit. The carpet cleaner does an amazing job cleaning carpets, better than the ones you rent uptown. Leaves your carpets clean and mostly dry when used correctly. The price was considerably less($100-$150 less) than purchasing from retailer locally. Website was easy to follow and place order. It arrived on the day it was sheduled to and you could follow the shipping progress by selecting the shipping number on your order. As a first time customer and before placing an order, I read through the user comments and most were favorable. However, it seems that most of the negative comments were due to returning defective or wrong items shipped. My only negative would be that the shipping company(UPS) didn't handle the package with great care. The box was kind of beat up when it arrived, but the contents was not damaged. I would purchase from Overstock again.

I ordered this cleaner on the 23rd of December and received it on the 3rd of January, just as indicated in the shipping information. Not bad considering all the holidays involved. I received it last night and with the help of a phillips screwdriver (4 screws) I was ready to roll. Today I cleaned 3,000 sq. feet of carpet. My carpet is only a year old and had not been cleaned before. The majority of my problem was pet stain. I used hot water in the water tank and straight distilled vinegar in the soap dispenser. I was delighted in how it made the carpet look new again. I was pleasantly surprised at how much water was extracted from the carpet. I would guess about 85-90%. The carpet was damp, but not wet and dried quickly. The machine was easy to clean after the job was done without having to manhandle it to clean the bottom compartments. When I was looking at this piece of equipment to purchase I was particularly look to see if the attachment had a rotating brush. It was not specified, and I didn't pursue it. The attachment has only the stationary brush. I have not used the attachment yet, but I am still extremely pleased with how the machine itself cleans, the amount of water it extracts (as well as dirt), and the ease of clean up after the job is done. I am pleased to say I put my new machine away looking as new as when I unpacked it. I highly recommend this machine. Worth the money!
