Be very careful about choosing this toilet as it has many challenges, and I have yet to determine if it will even install properly. First, this toilet is European-styled which makes the installation very contrary to US installation. The ballcock valve assembly does not take the typical 7/8 in connection and instead will require a 1/2 in connection. This is problematic because the US does not sell toilet connectors for 1/2in and you must use a faucet water line. The problem is that the water faucet line has a metal connector and the ballcock valve assembly is plastic. So, you must be very careful not to strip the connection. Secondly, this toilet will need to be side bolted to the floor instead of using the closet ring and closet bolt on the sewage drain. This would be all well and good if the holes drilled for the side bolting was aligned on the toilet for the L brackets, which mine was not. Although Overstock would have eventually replaced my defective toilet, I just wanted to get my bathroom finished. This then required the toilet to be installed via the "european method" as described by the manufacturer (arielbath.com, 714.622.1552). This includes shimming the toilet about 1/4in off the floor and then caulking/adhering the toilet to the floor and then removing the shims and caulking/adhereing the empty spaces. Please check the manufacturer's site for the schematics. My water supply valve was too close to the toilet and the connection needed to be moved over. Additionally, if your sewer drain is too close to the wall, you may not be able to reach behind the toilet to make connections and/or turn the water on (I need to connect the water valve and ballcock valve assembly before positioning the toilet and wax ring). Geesh. This installation takes a very long time and a very conscientious installer. Even if the holes for the side bolts were accurate, it is still a tricky installation because the skirted toilet requires a very good registry of the drain, the L brackets and the side bolts. Because of the great difficulty of installation, I kind of hate the toilet because of all the grief it's given me. It may look good, but I couldn't be objective right now. The flush is decent, but not powerful like my other dual flush toilet (and which I should have just bought a second one instead of this). The toilet seat cover is very sculptural as you cannot see the seat rim because the cover encompasses everything. I may grow to like it, but the toilet is aggravating to install and I would stop and consider who will be doing it before purchase.Read More

Best Potty-Training Techniques
Potty training a child is no easy task. Although children will respond to each potty-training method individually, there are a few techniques that mothers swear by and experts approve. It is important to pinpoint your child's temperament before beginning the toilet training process and to experiment with different methods. Total potty training will not be achieved overnight, and parents should expect trial and error. Keep a schedule. Children respond well to schedules. If you have found that your child functions best with schedules for sleep and other activities, then a toilet training schedule is probably going to be effective. Build a reasonable schedule that is right for you and your child and be sure to stick with it. Be clear with nannies, babysitters and childcare workers about your child's potty schedule for the best results. Give rewards. The reward method often works well for children. Many children will find potty training more trouble than it is worth and rewards can give them an incentive to do their best. Determine a reward for your child. Small pieces of candy, sticker charts and pennies for their piggy bank are all good options. Explain the reward system to your child when you are talking about potty training. Make sure you frequently ask your child if she has to use the toilet, and take her to the bathroom each time she says she must go. If you prefer to avoid material rewards, use extra praise or a made-up song, dance or story as a potty reward. Let your child set the timetable. Waiting until your child is ready for potty training is highly effective, low stress and recommended by many pediatricians. When you feel the time is right, show your child how to use the toilet. Books, DVDs and CDs with toilet training lessons can also be effective. While this method will take some time and patience, eventually your child will take interest in potty training and get the hang of it. Using a schedule and reward system when your child is starting to comprehend potty training can help him make the connection. If your child is resistant to potty training, give him some more time and let him take a natural interest.

How to Install a Medicine Cabinet
Show your creative flair and add a practical touch to your bathroom by installing a bathroom mirror with cabinets (also called a medicine cabinet). Not only will the extra storage provide space for smaller toiletries and medicine, but it can also bring new life to an otherwise drab and overlooked area. Complement your mirror with coordinating shelves for towels and a vanity sink with room underneath to put larger items, such as cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Choose a bathroom cabinet that will be big enough for placement of items for you as well as for overnight guests.
FAQs about Bathroom Cabinets
Let's face it. For the most part, bathrooms are not designed with storage in mind. There usually isn't any more storage than what the shelves behind the sink mirror can hold. Most floor plans require you to store the majority of your bathroom essentials in a linen closet down the hall. You need bathroom cabinets to store bathroom essentials like towels, shampoo and toilet paper. By investing in bathroom cabinets, you not only keep your bathroom organized, but you can keep your bathroom essentials right where they belong -- in the bathroom.
