item does as described processed many tomatoes from home garden only negative the rubber base for counter suction is worthless but was able to use metal bracket that was enclosed to hold firmly to table/ seperates seeds and skin well and leaves good pulp best worked when run pulp through 2 times lots more juice /pulp for sauce
Bought this strainer to try to save time canning my spaghetti sauce. Actually knocked almost 2 full hours of prep time. And was alot less messy than the boil and peel method. Has several different attachments available to help with other fruits and vegetables (at an additional cost). Can't wait to get them and try them out. A great value and time saver for the price! Love it, love it, love it!

Although I haven't used this yet, I am excited to have it. I am a gardener and I also am a cancer survivor.
I want to be able to make my own tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes which I will freeze....so much
better than buying canned goods from a store....no preservatives and I KNOW WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN MY TOMATO SAUCE!!
I had read the reviews about people having difficulty putting this mill together but I found it easy to do.
Product was shipped quickly!! Thank you Overstock.com!!!!
Love this sauce maker..... Manufacturer needs to make the assembly instructions a bit clearer..
Awesome product, Awesome results......
I gave 4 stars because assembly instructions were way off, took 20 minutes to assemble using the booklet, once I had it right it took me under 3 minutes to get it put together and set up and making tomato sauce...
The saucer itself is a 5 star product....
My 7-year old grandson and I have had a great time making applesauce with the Roma Food and Vegetable Strainer. I have used other food strainers but none was as easy to use as this one. My grandson can assemble and disassemble it by himself. He is also able to use the strainer to process the apples. It was such fun that he did the major part of making a box of apples into applesauce.
Made short order of about 200 lbs of tomatoes. Skins and seeds spit out one end, and the
pulp out another side. Must have saved me an incredible amount of hours and hours of peeling and seeding.
Putting it together for the first time it was a bit difficult but once familiar, it comes apart
easily for cleaning. I even managed to get it back in its box. Highly recommended for serious fresh sauce makers.
I found this press to be very good quality for the money -- stainless strainer and fairly heavy construction. I don't treat it like a commercial press but can run a fair number of tomatoes with no problem splashing or the suction cup losing it's grip. As with other presses I've used, one would want to run the skins through a couple of times but it does a very good job and saves a ton of time.
It was a toss up between buying the kitchenaid food strainer and meat grinder attachments, or the Roma Food Strainer. I was able to borrow my neighbor's Roma strainer and I made my decision right away to buy one for myself. It was so easy to set up and I couldn't believe how easy and quick it was to do a whole batch of plum tomatoes from my garden. Cleanup was just as easy! The food dish is so large. It accommodated quite a large amount of tomatoes at one time. The process was so quick and delivered a very nice looking puree. I am very happy with this product. You don't have to spend a lot of money on the electric machines. This one does the job!
I am pretty happy with the Roma Food Strainer. I only gave it 4 starts becuase-NO Instruction Manual! It was not terribly hard to figure out, but I had a heck of a time getting the tomato screen back off. The plastic funnel needs to be re-engineered, and I will probably not use it because I don't see it lasting very long with it's cureent design. Mercifully there is a shop on ebay that sells replacement parts for it. I ran my tomatoes through 3 times, and I'm glad I did. I got a 3rd more pulp. And nearly no seeds. Tomorrow I'll be trying the berry screen, which is exactly what I bought the machine for, to de-pit blackberries.
can you get a motor later to attach to this model 070857.\
will 070855,070856,070857,070869 screens and grape auger fit this if I can find.?
