Award winning artist, Roderick E. Stevens was handed his first set of oils at the age of seven and his love for painting was promptly born. Initially his works followed a more abstract expression. In high school, he began exploring realism, and simultaneously discovered acrylics which seemed to better accommodate his nature at the time. Since then he has worked primarily in acrylics on Masonite and canvas. Roderick has been honored to receive several awards, and been invited to show at the highly prestigious 'Coda Gallery' in Palm Desert, California. He was recently commissioned to paint one of the marble horse sculptures for the 'Trail of the Painted Ponies' project. Meanwhile, his work can be found in several galleries, shops and displays in Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Tucson, Scottsdale, Carefree, Prescott, Sierra Vista, and at the '55 Main Gallery' in Bisbee.

Lack Luster
When introspecting the picture online I had expected the painting to appear dark with vivd bright colors made of metals and viscous textures as it appears in the painting--reflecting on the surface underneath in its visbale glare. I was a little disapointed once I unrolled my expected piece of art to see that the bust itself actually resembled more of a computer print out--actually one with a lower pixel count, at that! What had appeared to be a nice picture will in actuality never bear a space on my walls. The colors and semblance were simply not what I had expected and unfortunately I admit my money was ungratifingly spent.

Very happy with my purchase
Was a little disappointed initially with the clarity of the image on the canvas, but framing it made a huge difference. I love it, it looks great hanging on my wall.
