Reston Lloyd Calypso Basics 3-quart Red Colander

This colander is fire engine red. It is just the right size for two or three servings of pasta. It is well-built and looks like it would hold up for some time.

I bought this colander over a year ago, and I use it at least once a week. It’s beautiful and since literally everything in my kitchen is red it matches perfectly! But since I use it so much and for such a wide variety of things it has begun to wear... I noticed just the other day the paints beginning to bubble around the drain holes. I’m not sure if that is normal for painted colanders... it has not begun to peal yet so I still love it and will continue to use it! For the price it’s a great value, it looks great, and I would still recommend it to a friend! :)

I have used many different items over the years for draining liquids. The past items have either fallen over in the sink or pieces of the food got stuck in the item. We are remodeling our kitchen, guest bathroom and laundry room. I have been doing a lot of shopping for new items in the colors of the rooms we are remodeling and the kitchen colors are red, black, white with stainless steel appliances. So naturally I buy red items and this looked to be sturdy and won't fall over in the sink; plus it was available in red.
