This 65-piece stainless-steel flatware set from Reed & Barton makes a perfect gift for newlyweds or yourself. This set can provide full service for 12 people, and the high polish and clean lines will add a touch of sophistication to dinner....more
This Read & Barton Andover Pearl 65-piece Flatware Set features a clean, linear profile and a raise panel handle. This set offers service for twelve and comes complete with five essential serving pieces.
The design is simple, yet elegant. The weight of good -- heavier than what we have used in the past, but definitely not too heavy. Overall size is a bit larger than most other flatware sets, yet still very comfortable in use. Another review stated that the knife handles are hollow, this is true, however, it does not seem to be a problem for us at this time. Two of the forks were slightly damaged upon delivery, yet not that noticable, and still very functional, probably just a quality control issue -- we're not happy about that, but not worth sending the whole product back for a new set. Having twelve of each fork, spoon and knife is great! We've only had the set a few weeks, so far we like it very much! I am hoping that, over time, the 18/10 stainless steel proves to be much more spot and stain resistant than our old set, which is 18/0. We'll see...
I would highly recommend this product for everyday use, and even some "fancier" occassions!
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Educate yourself: 18/10 stainless steel is the better quality, when compared to 18/0. It is worth the few extra dollars for the better material, knowing that the product will (should) still look good in future years.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? It would have been helpful to know that the knife handles are hollow, eventhough for this particular design, it is not an issue (at least not for my family).
The heft and "feel" of this flatware set suits me perfectly.. The design is simple and elegant. I bought them for everyday use, but would not hesitate to put them out for a dinner party. I am quite satisfied.
The blade on the knives is of a lower quality stainless than advertised, not fine blade at all and already shows signs of corrosion. The thickness of the flatware is thinner than my old set from Reed & Barton and are more easily bent. Overall they look nice but I would not recommend them to anyone. Pay $100 - $200 more and get the good stuff since you'll use them for years
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? nice looking
Please tell us about the quality of the product. dissapointing
How accurate was the on site description of the product? ok
This is a high shine heavy gauge cutlery set. Not at all like the flimsy sets being sold today. Pattern is modern and will be used for casual dining.
First set I ordered had some scratches. Overstock replaced it without charging my card again. Great customer service.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Looks more matte when in reality this is a high shine set.
