Real Flame Oak Scott Shell Indoor Electric Fireplace

I really enjoy this fireplace, it's lovely to behold and works reasonably well. I put it in my office basement and though it does not conduct enough heat to heat the small unfinished basement, it has raised the temperature at least a few degrees. Once I section off the basement, it should be much better. The heat box isn't as real looking as my other electric fireplace, but it is nice. The heater is a small vent just above the lit faux fire on the element. It blows up and from what I've seen it can not be redirected; that's actually worked well for me. I have an armchair next to it and because the hot air blows up, it hasn't heated the side of the chair and thus won't over dry the fabric. I haven't been able to successfully turn off the faux fire and keep just the heater on, I thought it might save some electricity that way. But no worries. It's nice to look at for a while.
