    The fire Pit came with a cover which is a bonus. I like the square shape since it goes better with the decor outside. The top screen however, is poorly designed. It isn't tall enough to put wood under. I added a row of dark colored bricks and then set the screen on them and all was fine. Also the handle does not stay upright and is a big pain to try to lift off with the poker supplied. I added some ridged wire to keep the handle up at all times.

  • Simple and solid at a great price

    Took very little time to assemble. It is a solid fire pit. Simple design. My only want would have been tohave it about 3 or 4 inches higher. Doesn't sound like a big deal but the way we sit around it a bit higher would take the heat off your knees. Otherwise it is a good value. Almost a year in and no rust or worry about getting a new one. They don't last forever which I understand. This one appears to be a good one especially for the price.

  • Awaiting Return and Credit

    We ordered this fire pit as a gift for us both for Valentine's Day. When it arrived - almost 2 weeks after ordering it - the package looked like it had been taped and re-taped. Upon opening it, we found the screen bent and broken, and we found the tiles on the base chipped. We repackaged it - which was not easy - and we are awaiting UPS for pickup since the item weighs too much for me to bring it to a UPS office for return. Then I will await a refund. I am most disappointed in Overstock for allowing this to be sent out. It seems when something is out-of-stock and then goes back into a stocked status, the reason for this is that they are reshipping damaged items. Overstock allowed the return but nothing was done to make me have faith in Overstock again. I have been ordering from Overstock since its earliest online days. Never again.

    It holds wood and fire and looks nice, but the metal grate that has the wood and the metal cover rusted and warped from the heat. The cover also shredded after one winter, so don't keep that outside during winter!

  • What is the height from the ground to the lowest point of the pan/bowl that you put the wood in. I want to put this on a composite deck and want to make sure there is enough clearance so the heat doesn't melt my deck boards.

  • What would happen if the wood used was too wet or green? Is seasoned fire wood the type of wood that can be purchased at the supermarket 10 logs at a time?

    • Hi camillivanilli1963, from my experience using wet or green wood is difficult to keep a flame going, it will not burn very hot and it tends to smoulder. Seasoned wood is generally sold at supermarkets and some gas stations. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.
