I received this shade last week and was thrilled with its appearance; however, it is very see through when up. You could read a newspaper through it! I don't know how anybody can use one of these unless they have no neighbors. Anyway, I considered sending it back but ultimately made my own lining from drapery lining fabric and hot glued it to the back. Easy fix and now it provides the privacy we needed in our bathroom.

I love these shades! We did board and batten in white on the lower part of our bedroom walls and painted the top part a dark blue and these shades add a lovely beachy feel, almost caribbean.. absolutely beautiful! They do have just a hint of red, but it's not like fire engine or candy apple-- it's a deep rich brownish red color. And it's only a hint. They match our new ceiling fan perfectly. Keep in mind, though, that they are woven so at night they won't provide a blackout quality-- you'd have to hand-sew a backing on if you're looking for complete privacy. But we enjoy the bit of light coming through in the morning--they are definitely dark enough to keep a majority out, which doesn't really matter when you have kids waking you up at the crack of dawn! They are so much cheaper here on Overstock than at Home Depot, where they'd have to be special ordered anyway. We checked at Lowe's too-- nope, Overstock has the best price. We also signed up for emailed discounts and bought all three when they had a 10% off promotion. The tracking was accurate and the shades were packaged well. The installation was a breeze as I did it myself in about 30 minutes with a cordless drill once I figured out that on my particular windows the bracket needed to face out. I had first tried to put them in the inner corners but it was just shy of fitting by maybe 1/8". Once I turned the brackets, VOILA! Still inner mount but they slid right onto the threaded posts. You'll understand once you see the instructions.

Love this new bamboo shades, replaced ones I had spent over 300.00 each for, what a sucker I was in buying those. If they have your size, buy them right now. What I like best is that the pull cord is set back about 4 inches from the edge of the shade, this resolves the issue of the pull cord hitting and catching on the valance. I wish my more expensive ones had done that. I could have saved a lot of money if I had bought these first. Just FYI ther eis a bit of a red tone to these particular ones, but not like a bright cherry or anything, More like a nice dark cherry wood cabinet or floor, and the lighter bamboo going thru makes a nice contrast.
