Rainbow Vacuum
from Maui, HI,  Jun 25, 2014

I am really enjoying the cleaning power of the rainbow, but I can see why a lot of them sit and don't get used. Cleaning the sand out of the water canister is a pain. I think a lot of people who have them use their other vacuum for regular cleanings and the rainbow for those days when they have more energy to do a deep cleaning. It definitely does have more power than my 20 yr. old vacuum and the fact that it doesn't require bags is a plus. It's also way better than the ****** I bought only a few yrs. ago- that's going in the garage sale. So, yes, I do recommend it, way better than any other vacuum on the market today.

It always has power. You save money because you use water instead of filters. It's healthier to use, you don't have dust in the air. It cleans the best ever. You can clean Just about everything. The attachments makes it so vesitile. I would recomend it for Anybody. Love my Rainbow!

First of all i gotta say...raimbows are GREAT vacs thats for sure...and this one was very good. I did return it for the following reasons: ~ it was refurbished (which I knew it was) but had some rust on it ~it was very old school ~ power nozzle was quite big ~ once I had it in front of me I realized how much space it would take Again its not a bad product...They do clean real great and are bagless which is amazing...just didnt like it for my small apt plus the rust thing...

I was seriously concerned when I opened the box. This thing looks like it's from the 1980s and there were so many attachments I was overwhelmed. I left the opened box in the corner for a few days before finally checking it out. The paperwork in the box points you to an online PDF of the original (1980s) owners manual. Once I let go of the shock, I was able to experience the mighty power of the Rainbow! First, it is very easy to assemble and operate. You fill the base with water, add a few drops of fragrance (included but I opted for essential oil), and flip the switch. Man, this thing is a powerhouse!! Dirt on hardwood and tile is drawn in when the nozzle gets within an inch. And on carpet, you can hear tons of tiny particles making their way up the metal handle. Best of all, the dirt is all trapped in the water reservoir - no dirt or dust is recirculated back into your house. All you have left is the subtle scent of your fragrance and a reservoir filled with dirty, nasty water - the dirt and nastiness that was on your floor! It's truly amazing! Clean up afterwards is easy. You just dump out the water and clean the little filter unit thing, which is a snap. I use the Rainbow to clean the floors with the floor attachment, I use the dust attachment to pick up dust from furniture before polishing it (saves my allergies), I use the extra handle attachments to get at dust on the ceiling and high walls, and I use the upholstery attachment to clean the sofas. I actually love using it. Because its so powerful you just make one swipe, you don't have to go over and over the same spot like you do with weak vacuums. The house feels extremely clean and I don't have the sneeze-fests that I used to have while vacuuming and dusting. Other pluses are the extra long cord and how easily the unit rolls around. I love my 1980s Rainbow!!! And I love that I saved $1500 by buying refurbished. Ha! Highly, highly recommend!!
