The smell was so bad, it gave me a headache. I called mfg and we are working on figuring out what is producing the chemically, plastic smell that is so bad. It made the indoor air worse than it was. I put it in a bedroom to run for a couple of days to see if the smell goes away. Smells like cheap plastic outgassing or ????. Like I said, it gave me a headache. bad.Read More
After intensive researches I decided to get Rabbit Air Ultra Quiet Air Purifier for our new home. It is clean looking unit and the glossy white finish looks good in our living room style.Read More
This is an extremely quiet air purifier. It is also an attractive addition to any room. I appreciate the fact that the mood light turns itself off a short time after I turn out the lights. The remote is a great feature. My only problem is determining where I have set it sometimes. I have it on automatic nearly all the time but will sometimes set it on "turbo" to clear the air more rapidly. The most important thing is that it really improves my breathing tremendously. I sleep better and I am no longer all stuffy when I get up in the morning. It is worth every penny! I have had it for 8 - 9 months now and it has not told me the filter needs replacing yet. I have been using it in the bedroom only for now. I like it so much I am buying one for my daughter.Read More
I recently moved to a loft in an industrial neighborhood. The air quality is particularly poor this summer, and I began to feel the effects. Since I bought this item (with the filter designed to remove toxins), the air inside my apartment has been noticeably improved and my lungs feel much better. The unit has a clean design, takes up little floor space, and runs so quietly you can hardly tell it's on. The space is approx 750 square feet, with 11-1/2 foot ceiling, so I needed a machine that could handle a significant volume of air. This was the only one I found under $1,000. I haven't had it long enough to notice the effect it might have on my electric bill, but I'm pretty sure my health is worth the cost!Read More
Very responsive to changes in air quality. Although not as slim as shown in pictures, it's still far more attractive than any other purifier I've seen. Very happy so far.Read More
I hesitated. The product is relatively new, the price tag high (although not as high as some long-time industry standards), and the maker....oblique (Mitsubishi? Making air purifiers?!). But the reviews convinced me that maybe it was worth trying, and the one machine could replace two that had become so obsolete I couldn't find new filters for them. I've been using air purifiers for over fifteen years, and still have not found it in me to spend $1k on a unit that wouldn't go obsolete. The product is very well engineered - the filters fit together perfectly - and the unit does a great job. Within two hours on the Turbo setting, I was breathing easier, and by the next day where I thought I was going to have to replace upholstered furniture for how badly I was itching and getting congested sitting on it, I'm now dealing again - yay! My only complaint is that I've become so used to the white noise of my purifiers through the years that I'm having trouble sleeping. This machine is incredibly quiet. ") Something, actually, others would love.Read More
I now own 3 of these. I originally read a review on this item in Cigar Aficionado. This unit 'eats' up smoke and cleans the air very efficiently in a small unvetilated room. That said, we use it in a screened porch in the winter where guests can smoke. We also have one in our bedroom since I have incredible seasonal allergies. I recently bought this item for my daughter who has had upper respiratory issues. She seems to be doing much better. I believe Overstock has the best price when you can use the occasional % off discounts.Read More
After researching various air purifiers, I decided for the money, this was an excellent buy and decided to try it. I have used other purifiers that were nothing special and were very large and clunky. I normally would choose black so it would blend with my other electronics but choose white so it would blend with the walls better since my walls are light cream. I'm so glad I did as it is non-obtrusive. It works well to remove the toxic smells of new carpet, paint and furniture in my new apartment. An added bonus is when I cook, it immediately switches into a higher speed to remove the odors. I'm even amazed how it senses the odors and toxins when I open new boxes of furniture and swiftly removes odors. My custom filter is for VOCs, I can only assume it removes the toxins. Even though this unit is rated for 750sf, it's so light and easy to move to another room if needed. I have recommended it to friends with allergies.Read More
Honestly we got this machine because our dog has allergies. He is much better although we are not sure if it is because of the air purifier or because we are vacuuming behind the couch every day. It does work relatively silently, and the automatic air purity measuring feature is very sensitive. The air quality goes from good to medium for five minutes when my husband takes off his shoes in the evening.Read More
product arrived earlier than overstock's committed date. product arrived in perfect condition. product does what it claims. there are higher performing hepa filters on the market; but if you're concerned about the unit taking up space (this one is wall mountable) and overall appearance along with performance, this is the best one out there. downsides: it comes with a higher pricetag. we purchased this for our infant's bedroom -- he was showing mild signs of allergies to either dust or dander. this hepa filter filters out both. he's coughing much less and hasn't had an attack since use of the rabbit air. the caviat; we also removed carpet from his room at the same time.Read More
Questions & Answers
Hello gg83, This air purifier has received excellent reviews! In regards to the room coverage, the air purifier does not operate in the same fashion as a whole house air purifier, but since the MinusA2 is portable, the customer can transport the air purifier from room to room, instead of purchasing multiple units for each individual space. An option is to place it in the living room during the day, and then move it to the bedroom a few hours before bedtime. I hope this information helps. Thanks for shopping with us.
You could probably do with the smaller one. It will only do open areas, not different rooms. You could move it wherever you need it though. I love mine (the smaller version) and it does a great job in my nearly 420 sq. ft. bedroom/sitting room.
Does the filter come with the actual wall mount?
Hello catg123, No, the purifer does not come with the actual wall mount. You will need to check with a hardware store for that. Thank you for shopping with us.
No. You must buy from RabbitAir. You would have to be careful where you place it as it is thicker than it looks. It will stand out from the wall about 8" - plus however thick the mount is. Easy to bump into. Mine is on the floor. Check the RabbitAir website.
What is the manufacturer's warranty on this product?
Hello pchin1209, This has a 5 Year parts and labor Warranty. Thank you for shopping with us!
Can the filters be purchased through the O?
Unfortunately, we do not stock replacement filters for this item.
Are the filters washable or do they need to be replaced every so often? If they need to be replaced, how often?
The MinusA2 has a total of 5 filters. The Pre-Filter is washable and permanent and should be cleaned at least every 3 months. The rest of the filters can be vacuumed, although this is not necessary. Based on 24 hour use and average indoor air quality, the filters (4 come in a kit) should be replaced once a year.
Is this item refurbished since the price by the manufacturer is $600? Please advise.
This is not a refurbished item.
